It will be interesting to hear what the countries that are openly siding with Croatia's think about this case.
(Anna, 14 February 2013 17:31)

It will be interesting if we get to hear what every country's voice of reason has to say. It tends to get boring when all you hear is false consensus.

I thought you wouldn't be able back up what you said about me being "one of the biggest supporters of ethnic cleansing" with quotes.
If you're going to make accusations, at least be prepared to back them up.
(Ian, UK, 14 February 2013 14:06)

That's a loaded question, because being less of a supporter of ethnic cleansing than the Clintons still does not mean that one is not "one of the biggest supporters of ethnic cleansing".

Maybe Nikolic will use his chance to explain to some of his ignorant countrymen who created this ICTY court and what the difference between UN and NATO is - sometimes you have to start in a sandbox
(Questioner, 14 February 2013 07:47)

Because that distinction is sooooo much more important than the fact that the Serbs are being called ignorant because they didn't want to welcome the likes of Osama Bin Laden with open arms.

Jeff,
The HLC in Belgrade lists between 8000-10,000 Albanian victims and between 2000-2500 victims of Serb, Roma, Bosnian, and Albanian's loyal to Serbia. So that would equal a maximum of less than 205 Serb. Western sources list lower numbers.

You know I used to think it was all an intentional bias, a cover up, but having spoken to a researcher at the BBC apparently the reason for this myopic view of truth and justice in the Balkans is stupidity and ignorance, and that I have made the common mistake of investing way to much intelligence in the reporting and editorial staff of the BBC.
(miles, 13 February 2013 11:52)

I'm sure you're right that there's a healthy dose of stupidity and ignorance involved, but when those who were complicit in the crimes were also being handed Nobel Peace Prizes, you can't say that there isn't also intentional bias and cover-up.

Too many in the case of condemnation of Serbs and only ever mentioning Albanian casualties. Just examine all your posts and suspiciously lack of posts when we discuss Serbian refugees, Serbian cemeteries which are vandalized and Serbs being attacked and killed in Kosovo by Albanians.
We cannot quote you on the absence of posts as logically there are no posts on those articles.
So when an article about how the Serbs are treated in Kosovo appears here, why do you disappear?

I like it, no details about what the debate will be about. Will they review the cases of the Hague and say "this one was decided wrongly for reasons A, B, and C", "this one was correct because of D, E, and F". For that, you need to go deep into each of the cases however. So it is probably just going to be Tanjug style, just vague general accusations against the Hague, another UN body, kind of "Why did you not condemn Croats and Albanians as much as Serbs?". Serbia has a lot to lose from this. The others can talk too, even though not at first place. It will be reminded of hiding Mladic and many other things. If it is just a propaganda stunt Jeremic is seeking, the odds are against Serbia and it may backfire, like the ICJ. Go for it, however.

LOL!!! You Ian are one of the biggest supporters of ethnic cleansing along with your Albanian friends here. There are hundreds of thousands of Serbian refugees and displaced people within Serbia and elsewhere. You support ethnic Albanians, they continue to ethnically cleans Serbs even till this day and you continue to justify their crimes and even attempt to blame Serbs themselves.

When an act of violence is committed against Serbs, you either disappear, deny it or repeat the fabricated line coming from Pristina (just like others - roberto, willi). You don't have to explicitly admit it for others to know you implicitly support ethnic cleansing.

So put your money where your mouth is and show me where you have explicitly condemned ethnic cleansing against Serbs. Where have you voiced your opinion that Serbs should be allowed to return to their homes?

Very interesting to hear how Nicolic will justify the obstruction of justice by the state of Serbia, by hiding and aiding the war criminals. Not individuals, but state organs, such as army, police, security forces etc. Maybe that's why Nicolic is going there for: to provide an explanation how the so-called new, democratic Serbia became accomplice to these war crimes, after the war.

(Winston, 13 February 2013 13:34)
A very ironic thing is you and the others who support the convicted criminals at the tribunal keep calling this a NATO or Western court. Look at the judges appointed to the court.
10 of the 18 permanent judges are from non NATO countries, including China, Russia and South Africa, 3 of the most ardent supporters of Serbia.
Of the Ad litem judges 4 are NATO, 4 are not.
Previous judges have come from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, the Congo, Argentina, Ukraine, Madagaskar, Jamaica,Mali, Malaysia.
I would really like to hear how Serbs think there could be a more fair representation other than only allowing Serbian judges to try Serbian criminals??

Ian, no one in the world has played the victim card more than Kosovo Albanians. You are doing it to this very day - not to mention your brothers in Presevo, Macedonia, and wherever Albanians may live outside of Albania. Debate is a good thing, whatever the topic may be. Why should the world except the workings of a Western court, with the sole intent of promoting Western policy? You have had to have had your head in the sand up to your shoulders, to not have seen that many verdicts at the Hague were questionable. Even lead prosecutors at this world court where amazed, and embarrassed, by some of the rulings. With Milosevic's mysterious death, Seselj's "longest trial in history", incapacity to protect witnesses as in Haradjinaj's trials, overturning of verdicts, destruction of evidence as in the organ-harvesting investigations, yes, I think there is a lot to talk about. Admit it, Ian, and other Albanians here, anything that goes against Serbs, is great with you, even if there may have been injustices. The debate on the Hague will not simply be Jeremic and Nikolic speaking, many nations are taking part, and hopefully from these discussions, better and more unbiased courts will be created in the future. Not simply Western operated ones.

Ian, UK

pre 11 godina

So Nikolic is going to have a tantrum and tell us how unfair the Hague is in front of all the leaders of the World, whilst playing the victim card once again? This will make good Television. Same old Serbia pretending to be the victim once again and pointing the finger at everyone else.

There is nothing for Serbia to gain from this debate, talk about digging yourself a deeper hole Serbia will do just that this coming up April. When it comes, the debate will not be covered by Western media. The BBC does not know how to get from Srbrenica to Krajina, can't count the number of detention camps for Serbs during the civil war, how to spell Naser Oric, or comprehend Western complicity in atrocities.

Jeff, 13 February 2013 15:17) Jeff please post a source for your claim that 40% of victims in Kosovo were Serb, a non Serbian source if you will. Of course I doubt that a non Serbian source exists

When it comes, the debate will not be covered by Western media. The BBC does not know how to get from Srbrenica to Krajina, can't count the number of detention camps for Serbs during the civil war, how to spell Naser Oric, or comprehend Western complicity in atrocities.

I think Anvi was referring to Milosevic, Mladic, Karadzic, Seselj and the rest of the clan.

(John) For sure they will invite the homeless of New York in to make it look as if people are interested. Then for the finality Tomislav will sit in Vuks lap for the ventriloquist part of the show or was it the other way around. No matter it works out the same way people will think they've been jipped even though its all "free" go figure.

This is the most important statement: "This will be the first time since the Nuremberg Trials that the work of an international criminal judiciary will be openly debated in the UNGA."
I believe the President Nikolic will do his utmost.

Maybe Nikolic will use his chance to explain to some of his ignorant countrymen who created this ICTY court and what the difference between UN and NATO is - sometimes you have to start in a sandbox
(Questioner, 14 February 2013 07:47)

Because that distinction is sooooo much more important than the fact that the Serbs are being called ignorant because they didn't want to welcome the likes of Osama Bin Laden with open arms.

Jeff,
The HLC in Belgrade lists between 8000-10,000 Albanian victims and between 2000-2500 victims of Serb, Roma, Bosnian, and Albanian's loyal to Serbia. So that would equal a maximum of less than 205 Serb. Western sources list lower numbers.

I thought you wouldn't be able back up what you said about me being "one of the biggest supporters of ethnic cleansing" with quotes.

If you're going to make accusations, at least be prepared to back them up.

It will be interesting what kind of document will be prepared. As the UNGA would have no authority to change any of the verdicts. When is Seselj"s verdict due? Isn't it in March?

I'm sure you're right that there's a healthy dose of stupidity and ignorance involved, but when those who were complicit in the crimes were also being handed Nobel Peace Prizes, you can't say that there isn't also intentional bias and cover-up.

That's a loaded question, because being less of a supporter of ethnic cleansing than the Clintons still does not mean that one is not "one of the biggest supporters of ethnic cleansing".

It will be interesting to hear what the countries that are openly siding with Croatia's think about this case.
(Anna, 14 February 2013 17:31)

It will be interesting if we get to hear what every country's voice of reason has to say. It tends to get boring when all you hear is false consensus.
