oh dear oh dear. who knows, perhaps alien abductions are real too. and maybe Mohammed really DID hear Gabriel's voice. how come Dr Marty has continually refused to disclose what he knows? its not Albanians who have challenged him, its the EU. he has never said anything. it seems tome, he is toying with the victims, he knows apparently who is to blame and isn't naming anyone. what a spineless individual. 2 investigations have already been done, not one of them found anything. its no good saying it happened and then bring nothing forward. but since there's no smoke without fire, maybe the sunken city of Atlantis was real too!

You say the EU/US did back flips to prevent the investigation from going to the UN, as a fact. Not true. They did not think that it should have been a UN investigationa as it had already been investigated by the UN 2 times. EULEX as the rule of law mission in Kosovo was given the task. There has not to this day been a resolution introduced in the UNSC council for there to be any other venue of investigation. There has been plenty of talk among Serbs and political rhetoric from Russia to the press. But Russia can at any time introduce for a vote a motion to create a separate UN investigation but has chosen not to do so.

"Your casual dismissal however of the allegations into the illegal organ harvesting in which a sizable proportion of the victims were Serbs and Roma is quite frankly slightly bizarre."

I would describe my position as "highly skeptical" rather than "dismissive".

"Sizable proportion of the victims"? Bekim, that's one of the main reasons for my skepticism: what victims? There is not identified one, single victim. It's just stories at this point.

Secondly, maybe it makes sense to some that someone who's not sick enough to qualify for organs on their country's waiting lists would be willing to buy an illegal organ harvested on a dirt road by a farmhand in a warzone then exported in just enough time to a hospital from a highly restricted airspace, but it doesn't make much sense to me.

But hey. you balkanites sure love your stories, your 'open secrets', your 'everyone knows'. Most of the rest of the world, however, prefers evidence. you know.... even a little.

Of course Danilo, all allegations must be investigated no matter who were victims or who were the perpetrators. Your casual dismissal however of the allegations into the illegal organ harvesting in which a sizable proportion of the victims were Serbs and Roma is quite frankly slightly bizarre.

In relation to Marty's allegations, there's no smoke without fire. His previous report proved the existence of rendition flights in which many Western governments admitted in the end after first denying that they existed.

I don't think Marty is an Albanian hater but I do think he was well paid for his report. Why?
His report has accomplished nothing. Read his report carefully, he repeats allegations but he does not accuse(there is a difference). He does not say that these crimes actually happened only that there is reason to further investigate. He even puts in the disqualifier that IF the organ harvesting did happen it is no where on the scale that Serbia alleges with victims in the 10's and not the 100's. He admitted that all testimony from "witnesses" has never been verified or checked for credibility. He has refused to cooperate with ANY agency or commission since.
As far as his claims it is for witness protection, do you really believe it? His investigation was short, mainly limited to reviewing the investigation files from the the Hague and UNMIK. He made one visit to Serbia, Kosovo and Albania that was well announced. Now any witnesses he came across would already be known to most anyone involved. So why the silence?
You can choose to believe the "for the protection of witnesses" if you want but it makes no sense that if he did uncover any hard evidence he would want justice for the victims, the way it is, what he knows will go to the grave with him.

Another prime example of how Serbs twist the facts to try and make a case out of nothing.
The EU and the US did not want this to be another UNSC stalemate. Something that Serbia and Russia could keep alive for decades without any evidence.
Carla did not ever say it did happen just that she was investigating it and finally was told to drop it as it was going no where.
The UN had already been in charge of 2 investigations but Serbia insists that yielded nothing, Serbia only insisted on the UN so they could claim foul.
You think that with the corruption of Russia and their dealings with mafia's on all fronts they are credible to conduct an investigation into anything. It would be like what is happening in Serbia right now, where anyone who might be a threat to the SNS grab for power is suddenly accused of Corruption.
Who do you think it is that is recruiting these Russian citiens who are willing to sell their organs because they do not have money to feed their families??
As far as witnesses dying, just as many if not more witnesses against Serbs have died or committed suicide.

Paul

pre 11 godina

This is a global problem and needs to be confronted in the context of a global problem. Albanians are not the only ones being accused of murdering people for their tissue. And its not just murder that drives the problem. Can you really volunteer to sell your kidneys? How many people who have sold a kidney even know what a kidney is? How many know what the medical consequences are?

We need to outlaw this practice. Nobody should be able to consent to donating their organs while alive unless it is to a direct relative. And any doctor who would knowingly apply the tissue of a victim murdered for any purpose needs to be prosecuted as an accomplice to murder.

The absence of enthusiasm from the UN in confronting this as a global problem really exposes the moral vacuum that it governs under. Russia is entirely justified in keeping what it knows to itself.

What great story telling. Tanjug or whoever wrote this should get first prize in literature. It seemed to me to be reading one of Borges' stories. There is everything and nothing there. It sounds like a lot happened but in reality nothing happened. The only newsworthy event is EULEX's accusation of Russia, but that is wrapped inside a fantastic chase around the world in 80 days of some doctor by some prosecutor, alas failed, Turkey, Italy, and other distractions. Facts:
1. The EU and US did back-flips to prevent this investigation going to the UN and to keep it within their own scope. EULEX are conducting investigations with the head being an American. As we know, they have always been unfavourable to Serbs. Clearing their partners in crime is common while vigorously pursuing anything, even the simplest things Serbs do, like burning a NATO or EU flag.
2. Carla del Ponte confirmed that organ harvesting occured as part of her investigations at the NATO court. And she is a Serb hater also.
3. Dick Marty's investigation pointed to strong evidence of organ harvesting. He confirmed that witnesses exist but would only reveal them when a secure witness protection system is in place.
4. As we know, the witness protection system af the NATO court is inadequate as many witnesses testifying for Serbs (or against Albanians) ended up dead. That is why Albanians always ask for the evidence... so they can dispose of it.
5. There are also many people in the know, i.e European security services, who will confirm this happened without a doubt. Just ask and you will see.

Simple fact is, since the EU and US are leading and Albanians are accused, we can almost guarantee nothing will come of this. Put it in the hands of a competent investigative team and replace that poor excuse of a war crimes prosecutor in Serbia and we will finally get the case we need. Russia is wise enough not to deal with the EU and US in this matter.

This doctor worked with some of the Albanians earlier named. Furthermore Turkey was a likely recipient, along with Italy, of some of the organs taken from the kidnapped Serbs.

1.) EULEX has been confirmed by the UNSC. SA can of course ignore that, but it can't do it on the base of international law.

2.) Even if they ignore EULEX, why do they ignore Serbia? As far as I know, there is in ongoing investigation from Belgrade and here that excuse does not kick in. Still, he escaped from a Serb-friendly country? Coincidence? I don't think so.

3.) Russia's reluctance to present "evidence" speaks volumes. In fact, I'm not really surprised. Just as in Serbia, this is just talk which aims only to keep that allegations with rumors alive. It is only political.

This is classic propaganda technique.

You've got this one, real, case of organ transplanting, nothing to do with the Serbian prosecutor. No real victims here, they all sold their kidneys.

Then you associate it, somehow (put the prosecutor's name in the article, use his picture, mention this yellow house story, with this case that has yet to produce a single victim.

You make an alchemy of some truth, then add whopping doses of prejudice and a lot of fiction.

People then fuse these things together and the real story somehow makes the vapour story more real.

Anyway. No offence to people who've lost loved-one. I know there are many still missing and unaccounted for from the Kosovo war, Serbs and Albanians. But, this story has been going on a long time and there hasn't been any evidence or even a victim named in all these years. So, until that time, I would keep quiet about it because, frankly, it's sounding more and more like a fairy story to me. (not that it didn't from square 1 - organs being extracted in some mountain village, then flown out during a war in a time of highly restricted airspace. It doesn't pass the sniff test)

Well I know the Kosovo-Albanian doctor connected with illegal transplants after the war, had been named/accused by Serbs years before the discovery due to the illegal operation on the Turk and Israeli in Pristina.

This doctor worked with some of the Albanians earlier named. Furthermore Turkey was a likely recipient, along with Italy, of some of the organs taken from the kidnapped Serbs.

There was a huge glut of organs on the market in 1999 and 2000 in Italy which corresponded to the years when Serbs were being kidnapped by the hundreds.

Danilo,Mark my words, this organ harvesting issue will be the linch pin that brings KiM back into the fold of Serbia. It will be used as the excuse by the west when they have no further use for "kosovah".

Facts:

According to Ratel's allegations, Russia is ignoring requests coming from EULEX to forward the evidence it had related to the case of the Priština clinic Medicus.

'Kosova-USA', that's quite the handle you give yourself.

'USA' has prostituted itself to 'Kosova' so that it could plunk down a huge military base in the Balkans. And, it rapidly did so, in 1999. Not to protect you Albanians, but for military purposes in the region. If war breaks out, you Albanians will be very vulnerable. It is not the same Russia as that of Boris Yeltsin in 1999.

John

pre 11 godina

"According to Vukčević, South Africa would not extradite Somnez to Priština "because it does not recognize the EULEX judicial system and Kosovo". "

Overall those 3 points just confirm that this is just a book hoax. If there would be a shed of truth in here, we would have a complete different behavior of those mentioned countries.

Bulgar,

He's accused of illegal organ transplants where he bought organs from willing sellers - completely unrelated to these fantastic stories of organ extractions on some dirt road in the mountains and selling them to wealthy patients who aren't sick enough to qualify for a kidney from their country's transplant lists, but will take the one extracted by a farmhand

(Bugar from Skoplje, 12 February 2013 16:20)

This Dr. worked in clinic in 2010 and mostly poor Russians were making deals with Israelis to sell their kidneys, since they cannot feed their families in Russia. Who cares about this doctor, and whats it to you. Rest assured that this case has nothing to do with your phantom case of so called " Yellow house". So far , yellow house does not have a single name of any victim. If there is no victim , there is no crime and/or perpetrator.
I am sure there a clinic for organ transplant in Bulgaria, but you are keeping quite on that one.

On Monday, the EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX, Prosecutor Jonathan Ratel accused Russia of obstructing what he referred to as "the most important international human organ trafficking investigation in Europe".

Now it's Russia that is obstruction this 'most important international human organ trafficking' case which, of course, happened in the independent state of Kosovo?

Zoran, 12 February 2013 14:24)

Great writing, great writing.

Yeah, everyone who is investigating in one of the numerous crimes committed by Serbs in ex-YU is a 'Serb hater'. Just like Dick Marty is an 'Albanian hater' and 'Kosovo hater' because he investigated in crimes committed by the so-called KLA 'freedom fighters'. Life can be so easy for simpletons :)

Paul

pre 11 godina

Focus should be on investigating the victims and what happened to them.

Most of the rest of the world, however, prefers evidence. you know.... even a little.

food for thought

pre 11 godina

Comm. Parrisson, 12 February 2013 18:48)
