very interesting Peggy. I am 1000% certain that the (admittedly small) Turkish community does not want to be a part of Serbia and that they support independence. Same for the Croats of Janjev. so it seems you only support one group, the Kosova Serbs
(Nikolle, 10 February 2013 23:56)

Hmmm, a very nice piece of revisionism. When the Serbs started to leave Kosovo due to Albanian humanitarian action these same people kicked out all other minorities including Turks and Croats as well as Albanian Roma.
As far as the Croats are concerned the Albanians had some justification because during operation Oluja they did the same with their people living in Croatia.
Today the poor Roma (these are all Muslim gypsies) are forced to live on the outskirts of Serb settlements for protection because their “brothers” would kill them.
Just keep on dreaming Nikolle.

==================
You sure about that? A 1000% sure?
There are even some Albanians who didn't want the UDI.
Your lot expelled most of the ones who didn't agree with it. Some were even killed for not complying with the orders of KLA.

Terror will get you the desired results most of the time.

Peggy

Then, you're simply a fool, Peggy.

Much of what the Milosevic regime did is a matter of their own public record.
(Danilo, 11 February 2013 02:44)
==============================

So you say.
There is also a lot of propaganda and straight out lies out there which you are so willing to embrace as the truth.
I am only a fool as far as you are concerned.
Who says that you are not a fool and an arrogant one at that.

You said Croatia will sell armored vehicles to the Kosovo albanian army, the article said to the international mission in Kosovo. Those are two entierly different things.

But you just stated the other day that they are the "lowest of the low". If they give up their UDI and join Serbia, Serbia will have to live together with 2M of the "lowest of the low"
=============================

Unfortunately, Serbs in Serbia are used to that. They already live with quite a bit of lowlife.
Take a look at who built that monument which was taken away.
Besides, not all in Kosovo are the lowest of the low. There were many Albanians who didn't want the KLA representing them but were forced to accept them and some were even killed by them.
There are many good decent Albanians in Kosovo still.
Unfortunately, they don't post here or have any say in what goes on over there. The would certainly be a good addition to Serbia.

So, no, I don't mean every Albanian is the lowest of the low. Many who do horrible things now are but sadly they come with the territory and I am sure that Serbia will be able to clean Kosovo to some extent. They will have to build a few more prisons but it time they would get there.

Peggy

Do you know that there is a country without territory a UN observer recognised by 104 countries Sovereign Military Order Of Malta and they even issue passports. Peggy or most here will never step in Kosovo but they want people there to live under rules of they will not have to follow.
(Alo Alo, 10 February 2013 02:47)
==========================
You really don't make any sense at all.
I might never visit Kosovo, but, I fully support the wishes of the Serbian people and of other non Albanians living in Kosovo. Those people want Serbian rule there. I am not setting any rules of my own. I am supporting my people over there and fully stand behind them.

Now are you saying that Serbs and other non Albanians of Kosovo don't want to be part of Serbia?

(Hank the Tank, 10 February 2013 10:55) Croatia bought licence to build the Finish Patrica's. It has other good deals with Finland and Patrica Co also they are built in Croatia. Europeans have their own armoured vehicles http://www.croatiantimes.com/news/General_News/2011-05-27/19606/_Croatia_to_sell_six_APC_vehicles_to_EULEX_mission_in_Kosovo their these went to Kosovo Albanian forces.

Turkish Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz has stated that Kosovo should have its own army.

“Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state and it should have the same rights, no more and no less, as other countries in the region. Just like all other countries that have courts and other institutions like an army, Kosovo should be entitled to its army as well,”

Question: is the same true for the Kurds in Syria, Iraq and... Turkey?
No double standards!

On the issue on NATO. It was once the most powerful battle group, but today it’s preparing to leave Afghanistan DEFEATED – you don’t survive something like that; NATO is dead.
(sj, 10 February 2013 06:25)

Well, the man they were after is now reposing in peace at the bottom of the ocean... True, Afghans are continuing to kill themselves, but hey, it's not the job of NATO to waste their taxpayers money to make Afghans love each other. I understand that somebody hating NATO would love NATO to do that, but hey, NATO may be stupid, but not that stupid.

Mission completed, NATO should be back home, it's the Afghans' business to become a civilized country or not - but if you are so concerned about that, you are more then welcome to have Serbia go there and teach Afghans how to love each other.

As for NATO being the most powerful battle group, I though that somebody called sj had already ruled long time ago that they were all p... and wind, no ?

(Peggy, 9 February 2013 23:56)

But you just stated the other day that they are the "lowest of the low". If they give up their UDI and join Serbia, Serbia will have to live together with 2M of the "lowest of the low". I know you don't care because you live in Australia, but, for a Serb living in Serbia, for every three of his/her neighbors there will be one of the "lowest of the low" - that would be alarming for every Serb living in Serbia, which is why I don't blame the Serbs in Serbia for not following your advices.

My there are some deluded Albanians with fanciful imaginations about Kosovo having an army and pilots being trained right now in Turkey.
Now back to reality boys, who is paying for this Kosova Army????????? The US, well I suggest you guys put in a request for money especially after this last storm in New York and see is you get enough to buy a cappuccino. The EU? The very latest on the financial crises is that they approached about a dozen or so of Asia’s banks for a loan of $1.5 trillion as a fighting war chest and in the end the best they got is $400 billion. Some clown mentioned UK and France helping Pristina with its army – yes both countries are going to reduce their military budgets to give to the Albanians – and pigs will fly. Where do you guys get this stuff from?
Now how much money can Pristina generate? Pristina is unable to generate enough to pay for one tenth of the current police let alone an army or teachers or hospitals. It’s all covered by Brussels.
So the Albanians need to take a nice hot shower and headache pills and keep on dreaming.
On the issue on NATO. It was once the most powerful battle group, but today it’s preparing to leave Afghanistan DEFEATED – you don’t survive something like that; NATO is dead.

Just like all other countries that have courts and other institutions like an army, Kosovo should be entitled to its army as well,” he said after a meeting with Kosovo Security Force Minister Agim Ceku.

Good to see that the Albanians are exercising their democratic rights and freedoms, it would just be a good thing if they extended it to others. As for an Albanian army in KiM, NATO would have to be back in Kosovo triple force, just to keep this "Newborn Army" in check. Can you imagine, violent protests at Serbian monasteries, and Pristina calls in their army to protect the beleaguered monks trapped inside, yeah right!

winston

Just like the EU debate.
One day someone will say that Serbia must recognize Kosovo to join EU then the next day someone else will say that is not a requirement, then the next day someone will say it is and then someone will say it is not and so on and so on.
So it is basically who or what you want to believe at this point. But there is one fact: Either they will leave Kosovo with an army or they will forever remain in place, either as NATO wholly or an agreement among a subset of NATO. Note all NATO countries do not contribute to every action.

It's not up to NATO to make a decision about the army. Albanians just want its consent. Anyways, if they don't reacht a consent, it doesn't matter. Americans support the transformation just as the 4 big European countries. So who cares about Romania etc.

No army for the KiM Albanians, oh oh, I see another protest in the making. Let's see, how many will that be this week alone? Good to see that the Albanians are exercising their democratic rights and freedoms, it would just be a good thing if they extended it to others. As for an Albanian army in KiM, NATO would have to be back in Kosovo triple force, just to keep this "Newborn Army" in check. Can you imagine, violent protests at Serbian monasteries, and Pristina calls in their army to protect the beleaguered monks trapped inside, yeah right!

CH, Pristina does not have a pot to pee in, literally. How are they going to finance this army? Modern weaponry is quite expensive, and the remittences Albanian diaspora send to KiM would not do it. More "he says, she says". Tomorrow there will be a high ranking official declaring that Kosovo will have an army.

J

This is what will happen. The US,UK, France etc. will give the go ahead to turn FSK into an army. NATO as an organization won't. The army will be formed but not be called an army. It will have the forces and the armaments. Pilots are already being trained in Turkey. Serbia, Cyprus, Slovakia will complain. However since they don't recognize they will be told there is no army; FSK operational capabilities have only gotten more robust. The US, UK, France etc will provide their support, training and armaments. Serbs can claim there's no army. We know better. Everyone is happy.
