A question that everyone asks of you on a daily basis. However, I agree Kosovo will not have an army anytime in the near future, but then they really do not need one. Their only threat is from neighboring Serbia and the UNSC has seen to it that it has it to protect it from any military threat. The reason why you have not crossed over, as you will not attack anyone that can match your military abilities, you (just like the bully in the school yard) seek out weaker prey!

Albanians are from ALbania, and Serbs are from Serbia. Kososvo it was Sérbia, bat never was been Albania.
So, Albanians go to your part of the World (Albania) and let Kosovo in peace.

Who will pay for the establishment and up keep of this Kosovo army? The EU? Or are you suggesting Pristina? Well Pristina couldn’t pay for a packet biscuits let alone an army. The EU pays for your court system, police and administration.
Where do you people get these ideas from?

"according to the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 Kosovo could not have its army."

this is what makes Serbs brave.

Kosova is "sui genereis" case indeed. It is the only case where the nation that has suffered aggression and deportation has been banned by the international community to have any defence structures. This is as to ask form Israel to have fireman brigades.

It is everyday more clear that the real problem of Kosova's full sovereignty and independence is the west. No army = no state.

And seeing things in a broader picture since 1999 Albanians have been completely disarmed. Albanian army today does not have even one single tank.

With adherence to NATO is was ordered to ground her air forces, get rid of all her Soviet made tanks, dismantle of "excess" weaponry and ammo (as NATO calls them), reduce the number of Army personnel to a number that cannot guarantee any security in any branch, hand over the national air-space to Italy and Greece and pay them for the "service". BUT it is allowed to send lightly armed troops to die in A-stan and Iraq whenever is asked and of course the transportation to these exotic destinations is for free.

On the other hand Kosova cannot have even lightly armed army.

With these kind of friends who needs enemies?

That's why KFOR is removing the barricades in order to enstablish the freedom of movement of Kosovo Serbs from/to Serbia so they don't have to live in ghettos.
(icj1, 3 February 2013 22:05)

Why did KFOR erected barbed wired fences around the holy sites and monestaries? To stop 'freedom of destruction' which seems to be a a Kosovo Albanian principle? :)

"When asked if Kosovo could get is own military, he said that according to the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 Kosovo could not have its army."

Even more, no other groups than international security forces are allowed to have (heavy) weapons in Kosovo, i.e. the socalled Kosovo Security force operates illegally, if you take UN1244 serious.

Finally Commander Holbauer using normal calmed down and diplomatic rhetoric. It makes a difference after those threatening statements.
Serbs simply do not react well to threats..

My only question is: Whose security is improved? Serbian graves, churches desecrated, houses shot at, burned every day, children harassed and beaten on the streets, molotovs thrown at offices of Serb officials...there's no one to protect them... and KFOR standing and watching, even encouraging ethnic cleansing..

Dear Mr. Holbauer, I dont know what is your mission, but if it was "peacekeeping" and providing security... you have failed... big time...

I was trying to think of a non oil producing Muslim state where there was no conflict.

All I could think of was the Maldives.

So really there is no hope is there?
