Maybe Serbia can speak to Turkey & get the old Ottoman alliance in place now that there's no interest in the EU. That way we'll always know where the West ends & the East starts.

The interpretations of the recent events offered to the Serbian people by their political elite and some media are backfiring it seems. Like the fact that the Serbian people were led to believe that the recent decisions of Hague tribunal are in some way connected to the EU integration process. The Hague tribunal has nothing to do with the EU. It is a UN body. If anything, support for being in the UN should have dropped.

If the poll is true, which is very rare in Serbia the only real reason will be "The constant setting of new conditions for a date for the start of (EU membership) negotiations, and insistence that Serbia should make concessions, are the most important reasons behind the decline," Drecun stated, and added that the trend would reverse "if the EU's policy on Kosovo changed essentially - which means that Serbia's interests would also be taken into account".

There is nothing worth to hear, Srbo. You don't like it? Then use the door and close it from the outside. No hard feelings...bye!

"...and added that the trend would reverse if the EU's policy on Kosovo changed essentially - which means that Serbia's interests would also be taken into account."

This is the core reason why those "polls" are published. They are used to create an illusion that "if the EU does not adhere to our maximum demands, we will turn our back". It is (unfortunately) an empty threat, otherwise make a referendum if the EU path is continued or not. Nobody in Serbia - even the president who demanded this before entering his office - asks for it and we know why. Polls can be used to express emotions with zero consequence, while real referendums have a possible backlash. Nobody in Serbia has the guts to say bye to the EU and that is why we will only hear from meaningless polls. I would support any second to cease all ties with Serbia and make it Belarus of the Balkans. We have enough material for building fences and barbwire around Serbia. No problem..

Hell, Serbs had more conditions imposed upon them than Croatia. Unless EU does't undertake concrete steps in approaching Serbia, the pro-EU enthusiasm will continue droping.

No wonder it drops. Europe has shown a lack of enthusiasm over expanding to the western Balkans, has not been consistent to its promises so far. In general, the EU ongoing crisis made Europe rather unable to enlarge, but failed to explained that to Serbia in particular.
