but, unlike in Afghanistan, the regular forces will be able to count on the support of the population that is hostile toward the fanatics who held them under a brutal occupation for over a year, the French newspaper writes.

On a first glance the Malians do not want their country taken over by outside Islamist forces who will brutalize and exploit them and they'd welcome anything as an alternative to ritual be-headings, veiled women and death to all infidels. They seem to believe that the former colonial master (France) would be a distinct improvement on a new colonial power (Al Qaeda, funded by Saudi Arabia).

Meanwhile, the French French have been one of the chief cheerleaders for the Sunni fundamentalist takeover of Syria. But doing the same things and expect different results is insanity as Einstein said .The West as Reagan used to say "ain't seen nothing yet".

If the French leave no troops in the seized towns they will entrap themselves as the blacks are poor fighters. But if they do they will need more than 2000 of the personnel. Otherwise they will follow Napoleon to invade Russia with 600 000 and to bring to Borodino battle field some 150 000. During WW2 the Germans calculated that they needed 100 soldiers against every partisan to control the territory. Though real partisan movement before 1944 existed only in the USSR and Yugoslavia the Germans couldn’t afford to keep such troops in the rear front. Same with the French who are surprisingly good in the current blitzkrieg but it is too good for the war to end this way. Seems like the Salafites are taken by surprise and will reorganize themselves for the long fight. I really wish our French brothers in arms very good luck ! Coz the better they fight the more of the bandits will have to abandon Syria and be home to fight other kaffirs. Thanks God France and other NATO states started to help us in Syria ! For Assad it is like the Overlord Operation in May 1944. Let’s see how NATO is going to drink and whistle at the time …
