Danilo,

You clearly do not understand what is going on here in Belgrade.

In the short term, BusPlus = free transport. 12 months ago I had a monthly pass that cost 2,600 din every month. Now I pay on average 144 din a month - the 2 times I can't be bothered to 'beat' the system! NB. On average I come across BusPlus 'kontrolori' 2-3 times a day.

I like BusPlus far beyond the comic effect it provides.

GSP receives a consideral 'donation' every year towards the operating costs from the City Council. ie. my taxes. When GSP collected fares, I paid them as I should.

BusPlus has been created to help friends and family of certain former and current politicians to get rich at the expense of the public. I refuse to part with my money for that cause.

BusPlus, and those who set in place their contract, are an embarrassment to all of Serbia. But while it lasts, I'm enjoying the FREE rides.

Danilo, we DO pay for public transportation. It's called GSP. BusPlus is like double dipping but the funds go to a private company that pays neither GSP nor its drivers. What money they get apparently goes to pay salaries of private security guards whose only job is to board buses and harass people who didn't pay. You either have enough money to pay, you have your own car or you're getting a percentage of Djilas' profits, which seems insatiable :)

it's completely incomprehensible to me this crying about busplus.

oh nos! people actually have to start paying to take the bus!!

Try to imagine in any other country people protesting because they started enforcing transit fares.

Whereas B92's editorial policy of reporting verbatim what politicians say (devoid of any context, analysis or commentary) is immune to any attempt by the political establishment to spin their propaganda to the public.

Allegedly.

Balkan Anthropologist,

Have you grasped the background to the BusPlusClown's latest publicity stunt?

BusPlus is not making him and his friends as rich as they expected. The public of Belgrade have not been cowed by his threats nor deluded by his corrupt PR(opaganda).

So, short of BusPlus cash to wallow in, he's looking for other ways to enhance his wealth.

Oh Dragane, your reputation and personal honor have long since been sullied due to your Bus Plus scheme. Going after a quasi-news quasi-tabloid paper is not going to restore whatever image you think the people have for you :)
