No it doesn't Fikret, but the Albanians are basing their claim on that.
If the land only ever belonged to the first inhabitants there would be no white Americans or white Australians. You know that Albanians are constantly making the claim that they were there first and we are invaders therefore Kosovo belongs to them. I want proof of that. They are the ones you should be directing such a reply to.
I hope I have made myself clear to you now. I don't think there is any way you can twist these words now.
Your pathetic attempt to make it sound like I was saying something else has failed and will always fail. Either contradict me with facts or stay out of it because frankly, you are nothing but a sh!t stirrer.
(Peggy, 23 January 2013 09:57)

Now that you've made that clear; Kosova belongs to Serbs why? Why not the Turks, they had it for longer than you had it. Further they had it continuously rather than in breaks?

Why not the Italians- Their empire had it for much much longer than you had it. Not only that but they had it prior and after you showed up in these parts. They had their civilization and like the Turks had a pretty efficient and organize administration for centuries. So Kosova belongs to Serbia why? If yourselves took it from others, then others taking it from you is wrong why?

So the land generally belongs to those who were there first? How far back in history shall we go? Does the time before the Migration Period count as well?

(Fikret, 22 January 2013 11:24)

As far back as when Serbs arrived in Kosovo... some people in these forums appear to think that that's when Kosovo's territory was physically created (probably by the Serbian Orthodox God). Before then there was empty space where today is Kosovo and you could actually see through the Earth to the opposite side of the globe :)

Without Big Brother USA fighting their battles for them, the Albanians have resorted to their very predictable cowardly behavior - attacking Serb churches, monastatries and cemetaries. Is this part of the honor code of Leke Dukagjini that Albanians boast about? I fail to see any honor in desecrating places of worship and gravestones. But then again, what can you expect from a people whose leaders and heroes are drug runners and human organ black marketeers. Keep up the good work Albos. The world is beginning to see what the Serbs have been saying for dedcades.

"So the land generally belongs to those who were there first? How far back in history shall we go? Does the time before the Migration Period count as well?"

It was Serbs who ESTABLISHED Kosovo, there would be no such place called "Kosovo" without the Serbs' ancestors. They also have most all the historical buildings and monuments from many hundreds of years ago. There is nothing historically Albanian - even the old mosques are Ottoman/Turkish, not Albanian.

Sorry, Azir, but we have a different view of borders, as does the world community. Can you please explain who gave present day Albanians all the land you claim? It appears you claim all of Kosovo, most of southern Serbia, all of northeast Macedonia, and a large chunk of northern Montenegro. All I can say is, Wow! How did Albanians come by all this territory? Who did they conquer to get it? The claims people make here are so far out, that I do not know where to answer.

But all the millions of words written here can be reduced to this one attitude. The reason thousands of people are dead, the reason the balkans are the bottom of Europe economically, the reason millions of people live in hate every day of their lives.
Serbs not only in Serbia but around the world fighting to maintain this supposed hierarchy and Albanians trying to break it down.

Albanians can hold all the Albanian State flags they want on Serbian soil, but the only one that matters is the one on the building in the background, in the photo. Albanians, you are on Serbian soil, it is also your soil, but it does not live under the black eagle, but the white one, with the 4 C's. The world powers gave Albanians a state after WWI, all the Albanians that are not happy with the nations they live in, can move there. But I a feeling, Tirana does not want you. For the most part, these albanians are acting reasonably. I certainly don't agree with their support of terrorists but assembling and protesting against something peacefully, despite it being highly emotianal is a reasonable reaction.

It also shows a fundimental difference between Serbia and the Pristina controlled areas. In Serbia reasonable people can go and protest in the open, while in Pristina held territory, the reasonable people stay home and trouble makers attack graves and churches while Internet flamers cheer them on as if they have acomplished something. In Serbia, people are trying to move on and have a peaceful life, while in Pristina controlled territory the greatest social achievement in 5 years of "independence" is bulldozing some schools and knocking over graves in order to hurt feelings.

The west tore away Kosovo from someone else, and gave it to you and the best you can do with it is elect criminals and knock down historical markers in order to hurt someones feelings. Wow what a pretty investment picture.

Mama mia, six ethnic Albanian political parties in little Presevo - for Christ's sake, Western nations have but a max of three or four. Maybe it's good business to be in Presevo local politics? In any case, why are these protesters holding Albanian flags in the photo? Maybe that is the problem, these people do not respect the country they live in, or reside by their laws? It is clear to me, that Albanians, wherever they live, want to be Albanian, in a unified Albanian State. It does not matter if it is Kosovo, or Presevo, or Macedonia, or wherever, they want a Greater Albania. If they cannot understand that the removed monument honored a group of separatists, they did want to separate Presevo from Serbia, then they are not being honest, but rather simply concentrating on their objectives. The removal of the monument in question has nothing to do with human rights, or civil rights, or minority rights violations, but with violations of the laws in which it was erected. An ounce of honesty from Albanians would go a long way here, but no Albanian leader has the balls to say it.

The declaration was adopted by six ethnic Albanian parties who held a meeting ahead of the rally on Monday. - B92
An ounce of honesty from Albanians would go a long way here, but no Albanian leader has the balls to say it.

actually some ppl in serbia have learned the lessons very well, but unfortunately they are not the ones in power, nor have they any chance. as i have said before, they are depressed and dispirited about the belgrade regime(s) and the opportunity for real change, for the better. it is always same old, same old. yesterday's actions by the "gendarmerie" were just the latest chapter.

the only choice, as many of us see it, is secession from serbia. there appears to be no middle ground with the belgrade regime(s). the so-called intl community fell utterly flat in its reaction, and showed that it cannot be relied upon. their understanding of balkan realities is very thin indeed, and their memories quite shallow.
