Doesn't Croatia think it has enough of the Dalmatian coast? Isn't it Italian, anyway? Always amazes me how countries preach all types of nonsense, but when their own and is at stake, they pull up their zipper. This EU club is so full of dysfunction, yet like a cemetery, everyone is dying to get in.

Dear Winston, you may be unfamiliar with your geography, Italy is on the opposite side of the Croatian Dalmatian coast (Adriatic Sea). If you wa.t to go more into details than the Aborigines should claim Australia or the native Indians claiming the USA. Also the same cannot be said about Yugoslavia (meaning south Slavs) as it has only recently been crates artificially (hence the fabricated name Yugoslavia) not more than a century ago. Going back to the topic that Slovenia will block Croatia's EU admission is rubbish most of not all other EUstates have accepted Croatia's EU admission. Slovenia is only intimidating Croatia for Croatia to back off & not claim the $200m or so Slovenia owe Croatia & even the EU said Slovenia MUST pay. It's just a game they the Slovenes are playing.

Slovenia can't stop the Croats joining the EU. The Croats can't stop Serbia joining.

The EU is a German club and only they decide who joins and on what conditions.

Croatia “may never join the EU”. YE best news around, Serbia can have our ticket and place on the Titanic. Slovenia will be paying Croatian depositors big interest and penalties. 20 plus years of dragging their feet paying former Yugo depositors their money the Slovenian government owned Ljubljanska bank. Slovenian goverment changed its name to "Nova Ljubljanska bank" so the Slovenians say it is now a different bank LOL Slovenian government bunch of morons losers.

Haven't you heard possession is 9/10 of the law if you don't know anything don't make nonsense comments.

I am going to make a comparison here......all the Balkan economies at this moment is/are like a human suffering with cancer... on its own (if I/we don't do anything about it as /weI have so far since the break up of Yugo) will not improve BUT I/we may take a gamble & opt for some assistance from overseas.....at best I may get a cure or move forward in life but if I stay where I am & seen no cure or advancement I belive I am destined to die.....What has the Balkan nations got to lose by adopting the EU, by not joining we are destined to lose as we have no real big industries to start the ball rolling as a lot of the Balkan people are corrupt. The least we will get from joining the EU is a more civilised society. We are smart people but dumb at the same time & I forgot to mention we are stubborn.

The lenny who built all those churches, houses, oterh various buildings that are of Italian design in Dalmatia? What Croatian Italians? Much like the pyramids were built by Croatian Egyptians and lets not forget the Croatian Samarians where civilisation started in the Euphrates valley 10 000 years ago. Maybe even Albanians Illyrians help you Croats build the hanging gardens of Babylon.

Which century did Croats fight Turks? Or even better how did Croatia free themselves from the Austrians early in the 20 century?
