"Zubin Potok Mayor Slaviša Ristić has said that Kosovo Serbs will “not pay customs duty and taxes to unrecognized state of Kosovo”."

That's fine... everybody paying the customs duties at the boundary crossings for goods destined to Kosovo will still be free to make there the statement "I do not want the money I'm paying to go to the unrecognized state of Kosovo".

Speaking of taxes in Canada(my country) we have what is called the Goods & Services Tax (GST) which was first introduced in 1991 which to me is the pits even if its sole purpose was to reduce the deficit for the Canadian economy (but for how long?) Whether the average Canadian consumer is or is not accustomed to the GST we pretty much have no choice but to in essence pay this particular type of tax.

I'll admit the least I've done and it may sound a bit crazy the thing is when I had chance encounters with American tourists visiting my country I somehow brought up the topic of GST and I remember telling one U.S. tourist along the lines of "Our tax system is sh*t" and he reacted by laughing.Trust me I ain't trying to discourage American tourists from visiting Canada it's just that you might say I'm warning them about goods tending to me more costly in Canada as opposed to U.S.A. Finally I doubt the Canadian public can outright refuse to pay taxes like what ethnic Serbs are doing or attempting to do in Kosovo.

..."money from customs would go to a special fund formed under the auspices of the EU..."

Who is administrator of this fund? EU? Belgrade?
