At the moment we are enjoying Australia Open.
Next we are going to enjoy the Grand Prix.
Then we have Motorcycle GP.
We have access to wonderful places like the Great Barrier Reef, Wineries all over the place, fantastic beaches including Bells Beach, sites like Uluru and Kakadu. We have natural wonders all over the country and tourists flock to every part of the country.
Now you silly little Croatian, how can Croatia compare to any of this?

I was in Croatia this summer and I and all the western friends I went with found it vastly overrated, too expensive compared to Turkey, which is just as nice as waaaaaay more hospitable, which Croatia isn't particularly.
Most people I know who have been there say the same thing.
Well where is your Croatian industry? What do you think Croatia is paying its way with? Money earned from tourism? Oh yeah three months of the year work and the rest all with feet on the table and resting. Croatia like Slovenia has spent all of the money it received from the breakup of Yugoslavia and it’s borrowed to a point that NO ONE will lend Zagreb a cent unless the EU guarantees the loan.
You talk about beggars; Zagreb has more soup kitchens than any other city in the Balkans. Your unemployment is supposed to be 14% - in which universe is that happening? Your real unemployment is the same as in Serbia if not higher mate.
Careful not to pull it too hard it just might come off completely.
Do they have a translator? After all, Croatian and Serbian are different languages as we are told. But I wouldn't know about that. I only understand Bosnian. (Sorry for my sarcasm.)

Croatian tourism is a miracle. Even Australia which is not in a recession has a problem but no Croatia.
I just wonder do you guys count the passengers in aircraft flying over Croatia as tourists because I know that Zagreb does that even if the vehicle is only travelling through and not even stopping.
