EULEX is deceiding this. Not the so called Kosovo government.

Question: if some one wants to visit France does the UN or EU deceide on behalf of France?
Nope!

Face the reality: Kosovo is not a state. But still is a Serbian province ruled by UN!
(Ron, 12 January 2013 17:59)

The above could prove that Kosovo is not independent from the UN or EU... but, by your same logic, it also proves that Kosovo is independent from Serbia. Glad to see that you finally got it.

So Vulin was escorted out because he wanted to visit the Serbs who were in custody. In any other country in the world, when a citizen of a certain country is in custody, a member of that country's parliament is never escorted out because they want contact with the prisoner.
"Kosova" must be the only place in the world where such assistance is denied.
(Peggy, 13 January 2013 01:28)

First of all, the above is a traitorous statement and it's concerning that it is coming from the only true Serb patriot in these forums. Kosovo is not another country; Kosovo is Serbia.

But even if Kosovo were another country, of course a Serbian prisoner has the right to consular access. Unfortunately, Vulin has not been accredited as Serbia's consul in Kosovo and thus Serbian prisoners do not have any right to have access to him because he is nobody in Kosovo until he is accredited there by the Serbian government and his credentials are accepted by the Kosovo government.

Seal all entrances to Kosovo this summer and all albanians living in Europe visiting Kosovo will have to take a much longer road to get there. Two can play this game and I don't know why serbs don't?
(MikeC, 12 January 2013 13:41)

Most of the Albanien diaspora living in Northern Europe does not drive through Serbia anyway, they prefer to go through Croatia, Montenegro and Albania, and by doing so avaiding to even touch Serbian territory . People still remember what it was like to live amongst Serbs, and it is not a pleasant memory. They simply don't want to spend time in your country, and give them any of their hard earned money.

But the process is the Serbian govt gives the request to EULEX because they will not deal with the Pristina govt, they courier it to Pristina, Pristina gives a thumbs up or thumbs down and EULEX couriers it back to Belgrade with an answer. Then EULEX enforces the ban at the crossing.

As far as the planes, Prishtina airport is much busier airport than Belgrade airport during summer season. Coming with cars, is due to volume that cannot meet the demand. The only reason Albanians have power to reject is because of the US government (some individuals within the US government). If it didn't have this backing, it could never reject anything. They'd better never piss the US or EU off, otherwise it's back to mules and donkeys.
(Daniel, 12 January 2013 12:39)

Actually the US gov't is trying to close this case for good, thus the reason for added pressure on Serbia. This is also why there is talk of creating a 'kosovo army' but once the only thing that stands between Belgrade and Pristina is this 'army' then things will change for sure.

Since the killings of Serbs will continue for the next while, there will be plenty of opportunities for a pro Serbian gov't in Belgrade to defend its sovereignty in Kosovo i Metohija, the Titoist plague wont infect Serbia forever.

So imature! Mixing politics with holiday celebrations. I don't see how this will improve the situation between serbs and albanians. I think the serbs can do some damage to albanians as well if they wanted to. Seal all entrances to Kosovo this summer and all albanians living in Europe visiting Kosovo will have to take a much longer road to get there. Two can play this game and I don't know why serbs don't?

Look who's talking about mixing politics with holiday celebration aka religion !? Tadic was the last President that screwed up and he was told 2-3 times before, not to mix politic with religion. Now, you stay where you are or beg Kosova government to let you come for a visit during your late religious calendar holiday.

As far as the planes, Prishtina airport is much busier airport than Belgrade airport during summer season. Coming with cars, is due to volume that cannot meet the demand. This shows that there is so many Albanians, that if everybody returns to your so called southern province, they will takeover Belgrade. It must be very scary for you, if you only think clearly.

You need to get a job and stop daydreaming. Pristina airport busier then Belgrade airport! The only thing busier in Pristina is terrorplaning, drug smugling and human trafficing. You are no different then other albanian liars at this forum. You think anyone besides your mom believes your lies? Why don't you give me a call when you albanians have something to be proud of other then drug smugling and human trafficing.

You just need to look at the amount of airlines present at the airport. I rest my case. Why don't you just accept that you suck! At everything.

It is so great to see a Serb who realizes this! Everyone knows these visits are political in nature and the Serb politicians are only using the holidays as a ruse. So disappointing is the fact that they use the Holiest Day of the year to try and advance a political agenda!

Maybe you missed the article the other day that explained the process, maybe you chose to ignore it because it does not meet with your agenda, maybe you are naive enough to believe everything you read in Serbian press or maybe you are just too fatigued trying to convince people you are not really a Serb in a western country versus just an independent party interested in "international law".

It is obvious that "Kosova" is a prison built for the Serbs where the Serbs have no representation or support. The fact that the Serbian government is allowing this is a total disgrace.

Kosovo is not a place where they and their people can go whenever they want.
("Montenegrin", 12 January 2013 13:51)

Just like Soviet officials couldn't visit, say, Smolensk in 1942. Guess why?

This ban is bad for the good relations between Serbia and the EU. I think that EULEX should be much more flexible. This policy that Serbia should all accept, is not more popular in Serbia.

we have airplanes now :-)

Say that to the thousans of albanians going by car to Kosovo each summer.
(MikeC, 12 January 2013 16:01)

The airspace between Kosovo and Serbia is in some form militarized. This is one of the things that needs to be discussed in the technical dialogue of Kosovo and Serbia. Neither Serbian airplanes can fly through our airspace and vice versa.

To the guy below me:

You do know per CAPITA (per person) Kosovo's airport is WAY busier right? We're talking 8mn v 2mn.

Belgrade population 1.2 million, Prishtina 200 000. Belgrade population 6 times of Prishtina but passagers only 2.4 fore times.

In fact you are right Ron. Who is wrong is the spokesman.
Is the government of Kosovo indeed that refused to allow Serbian ministers and not EULEX.
EULEX do not have this power in Kosovo.
Why he says EULEX refused the visit? To make some pressure on our mission there. To refuse the reality that Kosovo can allow or refuse anybody visit etc
Propaganda, dizinformacija and so on

I blame the Serbs in part for this situation, they keep making the same mistake of asking permission to visit part of their own Country, just do it and use force if you have to.

"So Vulin was escorted out because he wanted to visit the Serbs who were in custody. "

--Actually he was escorted out because his permit for the visit had expired. In other countries he may actually have been arrested for breaking the law. You can't just go to the police presinct with an expired visa and yell at them. Next time he may be jailed for it.

You get an A for you effort in trying to spin this though. You're a good PR mouthpiece Peggy.

The above could prove that Kosovo is not independent from the UN or EU... but, by your same logic, it also proves that Kosovo is independent from Serbia. Glad to see that you finally got it.
