Why doesn't Serbia's government just legalize and regulate marijuana for adults to use responsibly? That way, you will take money away from the criminal gangsters who are profiting by smuggling Albanian ragweed into Serbia from "South of the Border," and in addition the retail sales of marijuana would benefit Serbia who's government has a deficit. I suppose the reason they continue with the "War on Drugs" is the for the same reason that the USA does; because there are many criminal elements WITHIN the government whom benefit from the illicit nature of weed.

Besides, Serbian Domestic Product Marijuana is FAR SUPERIOR to garbage Albanian ragweed! (I know from experience, hehehe)

A study needs to be carried out as to how much exactly Albanian criminal clans profiteer from marijuana sales in Serbia. If it is significant then Serbia should legalize it in order to hurt their profits. I know a lot of their revenue comes from heroin, meth and extracted organs but at least this could put a dent in their profits.

Agreed Eco & Nice post Joachim, that documentary is very good. I can confirm that all they said in there about my country is 100% correct, something you don't see much! A film everyone should see.

Cannabis is a safe and harmless substance, two out of many facts that support it is that no one in recorded history ever died of an overdose, (compare that to Alcohol) and that relatively spoken it is a far smaller cause of disturbance than for example Alcohol. If the police in Serbia do not have to mind people who smoke a little bit of weed, or even put tax on distribution that goes along the same lines as buying or brewing alcohol, imagine all the great things this would bring forward. And ofcourse the criminals would not be able to earn 1 cent on this anymore.

I knew i lost something on my holiday there! Greeting from Netherlands dear Serbian people :D Enjoy christmas! And good job to the customs for this, in the Netherlands we are very aware that illegal drugs are a source of many problems, it is one of the reasons why marijuana is controlled but not criminalised.

Really, just legalize this silly weed, and a lot of the criminality that is involved with it will disappear. How can anyone say that smoking a joint, is any more toxic or mind altering, than tanking up on a bottle of Slivovica? For some reason, I have a feeling it's economics, the driving force for everything with world governments. As for the cop that found the dope, big deal, find human traffickers, that is far worse crime to mankind.
