We mark Christmas too - despite being strongly athiest.

Atheists can readily identify with tradition and abstract the fun of it, while still being strongly dismissive of the nonsense underpinning the nature of religious faith.

Have a nice Christmas, but don't take it too seriously.

I'm curious if there's any gift giving involved for the Orthodox Christmas? I've not read anything with regards to christmas presents being handed out when I read this article. If anything christmas presents tend to be a huge norm right here in North America.

There are some minimal exchange of gifts, usually for children from deda mraz, santa claus, but nothing on the scale of the USA, where Christmas has become a totally material event to many. A lot of the American economy even depends on Christmas holiday sales. I prefer simply going to church for Christmas, and then a warm dinner with friends and family. Srecan Bozic to all the believers.
