It sucks that this guy turned out to be a Serb. Imagine what a great propaganda chance was lost. Only if he could have been Albanian. Although if the Serb police are given more time they can make him confess that he's really an Albanian under a false Serb identity. The Serb police can produce anything you ask them. Such as heart transplants in the middle of a mountain with nothing else but a chainsaw.

I can't imagine that it's easy to solve this kind of crime - random lunatic that's not connected to any of the victims in any way.

I'm quite impressed at how quickly he was found.

I agree, of all the places I have traveled none are as safe as Belgrade. I lived in Belgrade before and through part of the bombing and returned every year since and have yet to witness any street violence or animosity.
Lets hope it stays that way.

Wonder if he was involved in the Belgrade Beer Fest stabbing in 2011? It's a similar style of just stabbing several random strangers who are celebrating at a major Belgrade event/festival which also attracts people from abroad. He needs to be thoroughly investigated, and also the public should know what he looks like unless he will be jailed for the rest of his life. What's to prevent such person - who has that kind of random violence within them - from doing something like it again?

Congratulations to the Belgrade police.

Belgrade, for all it's faults, can be commended for being, in the big picture, safer than average when it comes to inter-personal crime from strangers.

When something like this does happen, it tends to stand out, because it's so rare.
