In the U.S. the price of energy - especially from gas - is low enough that it's making manufacturing competitive with China (taking transportation into account), and the prices of LNG imported from the U.S. to Europe have forced Gazprom to lower what it charges European customers.

I’m talking about ordinary people not VW or GM or Ford. For these conglomerates the price of energy has dropped, but for the average punter it’s gone through the roof. It’s the little man that subsidizes the manufacturers.
As far as the US being competitive with China, I’m not sure where you are reading this stuff, but I can assure you that is not true. Maybe when your average salary is about $5,000 per year you might be competitive.

What part of the world do you find the price of energy, be it either gas, electricity or petrol prices, falling? Yes on the face of it the bulk price for gas is low but by the time you turn on the switch the price triples.

Huh? The price of natural gas is falling in most of the world.
