Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic presented platform to ambassadors and opposition. Dragan Djilas DS leader is not satisfied with the platform, which was expected. His party has made many bad decisions on Kosovo

Whatever the platform is, I suspect it is based on "geo-ethnic" distributions, or divisions of the population of Kosovo, as all of the preferences of the Serbian state to this point incesantly conveyed. Technically, there is nothing wrong with such preferences. The regions of the disupted Kosovo that have a larger consentration of Serbs should be simply appended to Serbia or form an independent entity of Kosovo such as the "state of northern Kosovo" while the regions with majority Albanian population should become part of an independent entity of Kosovo such as "the state of southern Kosovo". If it is in the interest of Kosovo and the European community for Kosovo to develop quickly and reasonably into a European state than peace between two neighboring regions, Serbia and Kosovo must be reached. Unfortunately, this can only be done by isolating problem populations from each other. Integrating Serbs into an Albanian state of Kosovo would only prove in turmoil and conflict between the two ethnic groups. Kosovo is young and the EU community should let it germinate peacfully. A democratic, i.e. multi-ethnic citizenry in a unified Kosovo seems not to be feasible now. Democracy by force is not democracy at all!

If the opposition parties don't want to wait, they can always ask Prishtina what's in it - the ambassadors who've already seen it report to their governments, who distribute the information to all those concerned. There's no reason in the world for the American ambassador not to discuss this with Thaci and Jahjaga, who have already commented on it. But Serbian politicians who aren't in the government - not to mention, ordinary Serbs - have to wait for the foreign ambassadors' comments to be incorporated before they see it? Is this government serious?

The Kosovo issue transcends political parties boundaries. It is a question of all Serbs and Serbian citizens. I sincerely hope that the opposition will be overcome vanity, and support government and president in their efforts to solve this problem.
