You've avoided my question.

I'm not even disagreeing with what you're saying there. I just want you to prove to me that how 1 in 5 in the UK are unemployed instead of 7.8%. But like I said, you are unable to prove to me that 1 in 5 in the UK are unemployed because it is simply not true.

They all play follow the leader; what is done in the US it copied in the UK and other western countries; why even campaign methods are adopted. David Cameron had Australians working on his election strategies because the same were so successful in Australia with John Howard. No politician wants to see double digit unemployment figures. It looks bad on polling day.
There are no conspiracies. Its how things work.
The UK has suffered badly form the financial collapse of 2008 and it has not recovered. Most of its industry that brought the Pakistanis etc to the UK is now in Asia so you have vast areas of unemployed and in some part such as outside Liverpool it can go as high as 25 to 30. On top of that you have a debt to GDP of 80%. Last financial year (Australia 30 June) Canberra received a record number of migration visas from the UK and Ireland and these are people who are highly skilled such as doctors nurses teachers. In addition thousands of civil servants have lost their jobs and will continue to do so in the unforeseeable future.
To say that the UK has only 7.2% unemployed is laughable considering record numbers job losses and immigration requests from that part of the world. Whether you like it or not you cannot sustain debt levels of those currently held by the west.

I see English is your second language so let’s say you’re right and the UK has 7.8% unemployment while the US (LOL) 7.7% - as I said give it another 12 months and it will be down to 0% or near enough. It all depends on how you calculate it and in your case 20% is a very ugly figure which the UK politicians would not like.
Your so called “knowledge” is the internet – wow!!!!
(sj, 19 December 2012 13:22)

The definition of "unemployment" hasn't changed, it is still calculated the same way regardless of whether a person is employed for 38 hours per week or just 12 hours; they're still considered to be employed. And as I said before, children, those in full time education and those who are retired aren't regarded as unemployed. This applied before the 2008 Economic Crisis and it applies now.

Please explain where you get this 20% figure from. I live in urban north England where unemployment is above the national average and it is ridiculous to suggest that 1 in 5 is unemployed here, never mevermind the country as a whole.

Your so called "knowledge" is based on conspiracy theories and secrets which the government are hiding, yet you somehow have inside knowledge; yet apparently what I'm saying is a joke.

Now put your money where your mouth is and show is this 20% unemployment for the UK. If you can that is. I know you want the UK to have 20% unemployment as it supports your theory that the West is coming to an end.

Someone has gone all offensive because I proved them wrong. Also the US is currently at 7.7% Unemployment. Unemployment won't reduce to 0% as we have a benefits culture meaning people refuse to work and rather live of the state instead.

The UK's unemployment rate would be much higher if we included babies, school children and the retired aka unemployment "in reality".

Yes the BBC has reported our foreign debts. Here is an interactive article on foreign debts by the BBC (including the UK).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15748696

Now that I've show to you that the BBC have reported on the UK's foreign debt, are you going to do "summersaults out of sheer joy"?

The UK unemployment is down to 7.8%. http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/rel/lms/labour-market-statistics/november-2012/statistical-bulletin.html

Yes this includes short term and part employment, but all employments statistics throughout modern history regard this as employment. In 1989 the UK had an unemployment rate of 9.5%.

China might be investing in Australia, but the economic crisis is catching up with China now. So good look with that. And yes the UK's economy will grow in 2013, just like it grew in 2012. OOOOOCHHH!

And yes Tony Blair lied about Weapons of Mass Destruction as an excuse to invade Iraq for oil and regime change. But then again, so did Australia. I could easily use your "Governments lie to suit their purposes" argument on Australia too. Whoopty do Bazil!

Yes the UK has only 7.8% much like the US has 8.2% and falling. In fact if this continues it will soon be 0% unemployed and where does Ian, UK get his information from you might ask? Yes its the government released data and published in the media so it must be right.
Australia has an official unemployment rate of 5.2%, but in reality it’s more around 12% to 13%. The long term unemployed are hidden in various programs..If your unemployed receiving the dole in Australia and you work only 1 hour per week the government no longer classifies you as unemployed. Similar methods are used in the UK and that is a fact.
If the UK had 7.8% and the US 8.2% unemployment both Obama and Cameron would be doing summersaults out of sheer joy. Did your government tell its people that UK foreign debt is 80% of GDP? I’d be most surprised if it has.
On a recent BBC program for overseas listeners they discussed this very topic and yes they said it was 1 in 5 unemployed in the UK while Spain had 1 in 4 and next year it will be worse because even the Germans are now in recession with Australia being the only western country not in trouble and that is thanks to China. Any fears of a downturn in Australia have disappeared since the new Chinese leadership came to power and their economy is projected to grow much higher in 2013.
Governments lie to suit their purposes – didn’t Tony Blare swear on the good book that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction????

I always find how people living in the west can be duped into believing anything the Government there tells them without question.

Naturally Serbia’s unemployment will rise and possible even higher than 30%, but then you take a closer look at the other more prosperous western countries and you don’t have to scratch the surface too hard to find the truth.

Currently the UK has 1 in 5 unemployed while in Spain its 1 in 4. At the moment Serbia is on par to Spain. There is no question that the recession will go deeper in the EU and its even predicted that the UK will have the same level of unemployment as Spain and Greece. The US? Well that’s anyone’s guess. They claim its only 8.2% and falling – yes that’s true if you don’t count the long term unemployed and “cook the books” using methods such as polling via a phone, face to face and then using a complex computer model to come up with an acceptable figure. It would take a couple of hours to actually calculate the real figure using Us Treasury data, but having anywhere between 25and 30% unemployment is a bad political outlook.

Always look around you. Yes Serbia will have a higher level of unemployment, but so will everyone else in the west except Australia once again thanks to Beijing.

"The Dinar is enormously powerful and western bankers know it, which is why the World Bank, the IMF and the EU forbid Serbia from using the Dinar."

Nobody is preventing Serbia from using the dinar - what lenders refuse to do is accept the dinar for repayment of debts or invoices denominated in euros or dollars. Printing money in order to keep the economy going only works if you can persuade the rest of the world that they are not going to see their loans and investments devalued to a fraction of their original value. Force lenders to accept repayment in dinars and you might as well forget entirely about the foreign investment necessary to import the capital equipment needed to revitalize Serbian agriculture and industry.

Serbia's only salvation is the Dinar.

The Dinar is enormously powerful and western bankers know it, which is why the World Bank, the IMF and the EU forbid Serbia from using the Dinar.

Dinars should be created by the Serbian National Bank and given to government departments to invest in infrastructure. Half a million Serbs could be employed repairing roads and building new ones, repairing government buildings (hospitals, schools, etc), and employed in social service. More Dinars should be created and invested in new industries, for example to manufacture solar panels for hot water and electricity. Every Serbian home should be given these panels so that they can produce heat and power using using the power of the sun. Another million jobs could be created using these newly created Dinars.

"Printing Dinars, you must be mad Mr Thomas, that will cause inflation." I can predict the response to me. Perhaps it will cause inflation, but which is worse, a little inflation or a lot of depression? Which would you rather have, a job with 20% inflation, or unemployment with zero inflation?

Nobody is preventing Serbia from using the dinar - what lenders refuse to do is accept the dinar for repayment of debts or invoices denominated in euros or dollars. Printing money in order to keep the economy going only works if you can persuade the rest of the world that they are not going to see their loans and investments devalued to a fraction of their original value. Force lenders to accept repayment in dinars and you might as well forget entirely about the foreign investment necessary to import the capital equipment needed to revitalize Serbian agriculture and industry.

The Germans have been in a recession since May this year but its only now been disclosed by the freedom loving western press.

Surely 20% unemployment would be 1 in 5?

Also UK unemployment has been decreasing constantly for almost a year now.
