"Now it is the right moment for the state to prove itself if being stronger than individuals and tycoons, whom I usually call gangsters."
(Agamemnon, 12 December 2012 20:25)

And maybe it's a good moment for the state to prove itself being stronger than the nationalist mob and hooligans, after it gave in to their threats of violence not so long ago?

Papas

Serbia now has to send a clear message that corruption and tycoons are not anymore a phenomenon that is acknowledge and acceptable. This day is a milestone in its democratization. The threats are obviously a act of a desparate man.

Threats are unacceptable and Serbia simply cannot afford another Djindjic scenario. Now it is the right moment for the state to prove itself if being stronger than individuals and tycoons, whom I usually call gangsters.

There is no way that a tycoon may ever publicly threat a state official. This is simply an audacity that has to be stoped and sanctioned. I see this as an opportunity for Serbia to clearly put an end to a dark period of tycoonocracy that has eaten the Serbian society from within.

Don't believe a single word on this declaration that is made to please public. Miskovic is clever enought to avoid such declarations threatening a minister! We are Ll very naive not to see there is a manipulation from Vucic behind this ! I don't defend Miskovic, but the way this is happening shall be questioned !!!!

Threats like this have to be taken very seriously.

It would not surprise me if the threat was actually made - the attitude that thinks this way is at the heart of the problem that needs to be solved.

Because of the threat, the pressure on this man and on any who think like it should be stepped up even further.j

I never liked Vucic prior to the elections, but since then, from what i have seen, he has shown every tendency to be an honest man who is doing this for a genuine love for Serbia. Unlike criminals like Milosevic and all the black market creeps who are actually traitors to Serbia and its good name.

Thanks, JOker!

You got me laughing after a heavy day.

I must say I may have been wrong about Vucic. I've always considered him a trickster and a con man. It look like he's putting me in shame now. Well, better so!

There must be a crowd with me wondering what the f*** the DS was doing during its reign. O.K., I admit I met some young business people during DS years who told me the corruption is running wild as ever. It just was hard to verify their stories.

Coming from an albanian that comment is really funny, in Pristina 'politicians' are criminals and terrorists of all sorts.

Men like Miskovic must be crushed, they are effectively agents for those western powers wanting to see the complete privatisation of Serbia, ending all state control over the economy and fully bringing it into the western 'free' market. This is why Russia was in such a state in the 90s, Putin however has taken control of the situation.

In Serbia this is not a big deal. Criminals and politicians are friends.

Yes, but it's even better in Kosovo: There, the mafia bosses and criminals ARE the politicans and ministers :)

"B92 has unofficially learned that Mišković - the owner of Serbia's largest privately owned company, who was arrested this morning - said that “Vučić will not live long enough to appear on Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) tonight“, and that he would not be in custody for long."

Hahaha, the Serbian way of doing business. Can you imagine an American CEO threatening Eric Holder publically like this. I hope this slimeball Miskovic goes down. No one person in Serbia should be this rich. How did he make so much money, legally, when Serbia was a socialist nation up to yesterday?

"I care much more about the fact that there is no one protected and untouchable in Serbia and that the state is more powerful than any individual," said Vučić.
Finally someone who will change way of life in Serbia. No one is untouchable,no one can be above the state and law no matter how rich and powerful he is.Just go ahead your country deserve chance!

According to thing that Mr. Miskovic son is try to escape from Serbia few days ago there is something going on.Serbian government and police have to protect people who try to do their job and find out things abot privatizations. As I follow things, in the time when ex Serbian government with DS on the head of the country Mr. Miskovic and few people close to him make a lot of benefit and this benefit is measured in billions of euros.....way to much money for poor country and people like Serbia.
