Serbs are foolish and stupid to do this. False EU promises are the motivation when Serbs would be smarter to stay away from the EU. Serbia continues to have a traitorous government - why aren't the people aware of this?

Like the recognition of dominica means as much as the recognition of serbia. Serbia is going to be sending an ambassador to Kosovo soon!! That is total recognition and encourages all countries to recognize Kosovo indpendence.

you think?

Serbs love to split hairs on this word vs that word, but the important thing here is 3 months ago Serbia was saying it will never happen, and today it will happen. That's a big difference.
But it is true these are not Ambassadors. So maybe a win-win for both sides, you think?

B#¤%¤ please, for what we care they could have 1 inhabitant but it does change one fact, your usual "majority of UN members do not recognize you" just became our "majority of UN members does".

This guy Vulin is the kind of man who will not just sit, listen and sign papers like people from former government. All this mess what you have with this Kosovo question is because of inbility of past government.New government is just get a hot popato and they try to menage with it on best way.I hope and think that they will do a good job, little time and patience and you will see the results.I am not tell that it will be easy and hard, but with their determination as I have see good things for both sides have to happen

Thanks to Commonwealth of Dominica, for reconinising Kosovo as independet country.
(Mirel from Albania, 11 December 2012 16:18)

Yes, congrats. A great country, with 72.000 citizens. My littly town has almost the same number. But hey, unlike Kosovo, it's a real country, i.e. UN member state!

"A liaison officer is far away from being a diplomat. "
(Gerd, 11 December 2012 16:27)

No, but is far from an ambassador, because ambassadors are representing their country in another country, while liaison officers represent a region, organization, group, entity...

Instead of two border crossings, there will be one integrated. Thos who know how conventional border crossings look like will know that this will merely be a check point, thus one can say that the Serbian sovereignty is still preserved. Nevertheless, this is a great agreement.
(Papas, 11 December 2012 16:27)

You forgot to mention Customs and Excise which make it very different from just a mere "check point". And then there is passport control, EU citizens and Serbs can enter Kosovo visa free, but Russian citizens and Chinese citizens require visas to enter Kosovo.

No, a liason officer is a diplomat and when these liason officers have been appointed they will be engaging in diplomacy.

I just hope Serbs use this wisely and send a professional to Pristina, not some party cadre. If the right person is in the right place, much can be achieved.

A liaison officer is far away from being a diplomat. But his presence will enable a better communication between the two parties. The Serbian governmeent must approach the Pristina representative wisely and ensure not to give him any material for criticism, something the K-Albanians are in desparate need of.

I have to give it to Vulin: his constistence is much higher than that of his predecessors regarding the engagement over Kosovo. It is not an easy task to ensure that Pristina must respect Serbian documents.

It is good for Belgrade to have ist own legitimate representative in Pristina, with the blessings of the local government. He will have the opportunity to observe better and alrm the international community regarding the human rights breaches against the Serb population. Another plus point is the fact that he will be sitting in the premises of the EU representatives.

Call them what you want, A. Vulin! Kosova, will send you a representative that represents the government of Kosova! Vise versa goes for Serbia! When was this possible while Yugoslavia was intact? I thought so! I cannot believe all the rubbish & lies you Serb politicians feed to your citizens, day in & day out? What I can't understand even more, is how do the citizens of Serbia, put up with all these lies by their elected officials? Just look at the last decade? Everything Serb citizens have been told, has in fact resulted in a complete contrary result! I can't believe, how these Serb politicians get away with all these lies, by simply twisting & tweaking some words that comes out of there mouths! Anyway the proof is the pudding! Enjoy!!!
