In Russia, there are other methods to silence journalists who oppose the Putin regime than to sent them to prison. I don't have to mention any names and methods, do I?

Yep, in the US they have the same methods. Anyone remember Bradley Manning? If only they could get their hands of Assange he would share the same fate.
But we are talking numbers here and I am sure that if the numbers were high enough, Russia would be mentioned.

"It looks like it's Islamic countries. I wonder if they will condemn those countries now just as much as they do Russia for not being democratic enough."

According to our Albanian posters here, Russia is the biggest dictatorship.

A Turkish TV editor Mehmet Ali Birand says the government of his country "makes no distinction between the right to freedom of expression and terrorism".

It is funny how Journalists and the press were hailed by Erdogan and his government as heroes of democracy only a couple of years ago.Now we’ve a situation in Turkey that more than half the print media are directly or indirectly controlled by the government's cronies and its proxy capitalists. The other half is divided between those in a hostage situation and those in prison.

But as Ali Birand is saying Mullah Erdogan doesn't make any destinction between free speech and those accused colluding with the Kurdish fight for independence. Most Turkish government opposition(mainly Kurdish politicians) including university rectors, professors, artists, generals who claim secularism and are against the government policies find themselves in prison for lengthy periods without judgements under imaginary coup plots.

Erdogan has managed to deceive all Western press and politicians who encouraged and praised those unwholly Islamofascists as "mildly Islamic and reformist. What Erdogan has been planning and executing all along since he came to power was the formation of a non-secular, Islamic theocracy not too dissimilar to Saudi Arabia.I think he has nearly arrived to his destination.

What have most of these countries in common? They are Islamic states! I don't think it's a coincidence. And what a shameful record for Turkey, it clearly shows that it slowly moves from a one secular country to a Islamist sharia state.
