If you knew how to read you would realize that the international community has been in Kosovo since the war ended. And please correct me if I'm wrong but the war did end in 99. No? Instead of smuggling drugs you should learn how to read.

I support and deeply trust most a member of the Jashari Family to represent Kosova in our inevitable Embassy in Belgrade,Serbia.
I am sure their are others than qualify but

AND THE EXTENT OF SUFFERING OF THE JASHARI IS EPIC............

LOL that's because Kosovo Albanians never wanted to be treated as "equals", but as charity cases deserving all sorts of privileges, rights, and special amenities even after generous provisions were given to them. But never mind that, let's just focus on Pristina's lack of basic understanding of diplomacy. They want to unilaterally appoint an "ambassador" to Serbia? First you need to establish diplomatic relations. You can't just throw in some village idiot in a suit at the nearest burek stand and call it a liason office. This isn't even putting the cart before the horse since the horse doesn't exist and the cart is't even made yet :)
(Balkan Anthropologist, 10 December 2012 16:02)
I cannot honestly speak about what Albanians wanted before the conflict, since that predates my time in Kosovo, nor can I speak about whether Serbians truly treated them as equals or not. My reading of comments in this forum makes me suspect that Albanians were treated as second-class citizens (or worse), but perhaps I am just sensing lingering resentment that resulted from the conflict?
Regarding diplomacy, I largely agree that the Kosovo government is lacking in experience in this. However, I get the feeling that the EU is in support of this trading of representatives (or "ambassadors"). Perhaps the Serbian representatives forgot to tell the citizens of Serbia about it?

Your attitude perfectly reflects why Serbia lost Kosovo. Albanians can never be treated as equals by Serbs.

LAUGHING OUT LOUD @ MIKE... 12 Years? Do your math right Mike, Declaration of Independence since February 2008 is not 12 years up to today.
Kosova will appoint an ambassador for Serbia, and so will Serbia do the same. It is one of the most efficient ways to clear up the air and misunderstandings between the 2 countries. You would be surprised how many Serbs are ready to end this nonsense and get their country going once again.

Trust me, Kosovo is not setting up an embassy in Belgrade. Thats 100 percent sure. Your so called leaders have said for the last 10 years that Russia, Greece, Romania, Serbia, planet Mars etc is about to recognize but what happend? You albs dont know the meaning of democracy and everything that comes out of Pristina is a lie. Stille 12 years after the so called Kosovo independence the international community is holding you by the bal.s.

You perfectly got the point... i.e. it is no longer Serbia who is holding Kosovo by the bal.s. - that's the goal Kosovo wanted and achieved.

We've got enough drug dealers and asylum seekers from Kosovo* passing through our part of the country already. Thank you Mr. Hoxhaj, but keep your token "ambassador" :)

Your attitude perfectly reflects why Serbia lost Kosovo. Albanians can never be treated as equals by Serbs.
To those posters who say that Kosovo should reintegrate with Serbia I must ask... Are you really ready to give Albanians equal say in Serbia's future, and to treat them as equals with those of Serbian descent? If not, YOU (and not your duly elected government) are the one who is responsible for losing Kosovo.

It is too early to consider some type of limited type Provincial Ambassador of the Albanians of the Serbian Province of Kosovo to be appointed in Belgrade.
The Kosovo Albanians have to show Serbia, that they are worthy of that, and they have wasted much time with regard.
They need to Lobby Hard for the Kumanovo Agreement to be scrapped, and for the SAA Agreement to be Implemented with Serbia, and they must inform Euro-America that they must achieve these things before any consideration can be made of a some type of Ambassador to Belgrade of the Albanians of Serbia’s Province of Kosovo.
