Why exactly is not joining the EU going to lead to a difficult and hard life for Serbia? Bulgaria and Romania-the two most similar countries to Serbia in the EU are currently living in hard times and they have been members for almost 10 years now. Why is EU membership considered a holy grail to prosperity-that is an outdated way to think.

I have too much respect for the Patriarchal position to talk down to His Grace Irinej but he is not the right man to lead the Orthodox Church. Bishop Amfilohije from Montenegro would have been the better option to lead the Church or even Artemije who was banned from the Church after the death of the Late Great Patriarch Pavle.

Its sad, after Patriarch Pavle's passing, the Titoist plague spread into the Serbian Orthodox Church. That institution, being the most important in the country, needs to be audited just like the rest of the state.
