Please Lenny no come up with BS. I work for Chinese and they no invest 5 billion in Croatia at all – there is nothing to invest in Croatia – you have no industries, you have too many roads built by private companies that don’t pay enough so your government has to make up the shortfall on takings. You be lucky to have $5 million invested. Chinese no interested in Croatia at all except to build a new embassy in Zagreb, but they bring their own people to that job.
If no one tell you I will, The EU is one of China’s main trading partners – they don’t need Croatia.

If you provide a sound investment climate, they will come regardless of Serbia's stance on Kosovo i Metohija and gay parades.

Ari,

That's a very BIG "if". Serbia has yet to provide a sound investment climate to anyone.

Lenard 5 billion for Croatia...lmao
(Ari Gold, 4 December 2012 18:55) Ari my Israeli friend yes it is true most of it will go to expand city of Rijeka port http://www.croatiantimes.com/news/General_News/2012-04-27/26708/PM%3A_Laws_clear_for_Chinese_workers_ . New rail line ,locomotives ,train cars ,roads a transportation hub to carry the increase in traffic in to Europe. Ware houses ,cranes ,office towers ,infrastructures etc. European countries are setting up company's in Rijeka also. The old adage applies you have to go where the jobs are and city of Rijeka will be the new place. The Chinese wanted to get half the workers from China for the projects the Croatian people ,government and unions said no. Here is a another project coming on line from China investment and many more http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-11-26/chinese-firm-invests-320-million-euros-in-croatian-paper-maker.html . Tourism to Croatia next year will rise even better then the 5% increase in 2012 as Croatia is the rising tourism star of Europe http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/338001 .

China is investing about 10 billion in Europe next year of that more then 5 billion will be going to Croatia. Chinese want Croatia to be their main gate way in to Europe. Croatia told them fine but no Chinese workers working on the projects.
(Lenard, 4 December 2012 18:15)

WHAT?! Out of China's $10 billion European investment HALF of it is reserved for Croatia?!?! Dude, you don't even try to hide your insanity anymore. Meanwhile Croatian friends of ours from Osijek had more family move in with them last month do you know how? The two cousins said that they were gay and were trying to avoid persecution in Croatia.

THAT is how bad it is in Croatia. That people lie about their sexual orientation to escape. Its bad in the Balkans everywhere, so save us your Ustasha propaganda that nobody but you believes.

dean,
thanks for the lesson in linguistics. go figure.
anyways,
ari has a valid point, and in fact it is you who missed it. cost cutting is a primary motivator to all businesses regardless of external pressures. the notion of cost cutting is rooted in the assembly line model. by being able to produce goods (and/or services) in a cheaper more efficient way the business reaps larger profits and greater rewards. a business is only accountable to itself and its investors and neither of these groups care for much more beyond maximizing profits.

NO ''Ari Gold'',you are Totally WRONG.''Cutting Costs'' has more to do with the Survival of particular company,in a face of UNFAIR competitions coming mainly from China(but other Asian countries too),rather than the Profit rate.....etc.
By the way,do you know that ''ARI'' in ALBANIAN it means Gold???????????

Exactly. Mercedes-Benz could give a rats a** about the Dacic-Thaci meetings in Brussels. Businesses, Western or otherwise, care about two things: cutting costs and increasing profits. That is their bottom line. We can become the largest star on the EU flag and unless Serbia can provide one of those two things, it wont matter a damn bit.

This is what the Albanians don't understand either. They are sooo lucky to receive such generous donations from the West and what do they do? The KLA pockets it, builds large houses and the primitive morons cheer them on. But that's okay. Handouts are not forever. And since they have done nothing to independently cement their occupation...it will be crushed rather easily.

@Ari,You are so right, the ONLY language the west understands is money. If there are profits to be made in Serbia, the western "democracies" won't bat an eyelash over kosovo i methoija.

Ari Gold

Its obvious where Serbia belongs politically. It should be open to all investors, Western included, but if Western governments are so far away from Serbia's national interest then there is no choice but to seek other options. Don't believe the myth that you need the EU or even Western gov't support for a strong economy. If you provide a sound investment climate, they will come regardless of Serbia's stance on Kosovo i Metohija and gay parades.
