The continual portrayal of the Serbs as the only villains in the Balkan wars will, at some point, backfire on the western powers. And the very people that they gave overwhelming assistance to, Croats, Bosnian Muslims & Kosovo Albanians, will be the biggest losers. At some point, the Serbs will respond in a meaningful way. The U.S., Great Britain, Germany, et al, will not be the protectors of these drowning entities forever. The U.S. has already begun to pull out of Kosovo & Bosnia. Without the military might of their Big Brother states, they face the reality of potentially losing everyhting that has been given to them. Look at each of them individually: Croatia's economy is in a shambles and corruption is rampant. Rabid nationalizm and the government's unwillingness to confront it will keep Croatia on the periphery of Europe. Bosnia is on life support as the three sides cannot agree on anything and in all probability never will. Kosovo's economy will collapse if you were to take away their drug trafficing run by the criminals in the government's highest places. The Serbs aren't going anywhere and if there's anything we've learned from history it is that time doesn't heal all wounds...not in the Balkans. The Serbs will be back to claim what is rightfully theirs and it won't be pretty.
