I think you are talking about Serbian politics now. Notice how the party in power is arresting the leaders of the opposition and none of their own?

Just days before election on Hashim Thaqi's PDK and Limaj got arrested. I sure smell that this is Thaqi's work to arrest Limaj. Limaj was second most voted person in elections and he sure wanted to take over PDK, so I guess sending him to jail won't jeopardize Thaqi's bid for PDK leader.

Typical response, when unable to defend your position, ie, your own choice of leaders resort to sarcastic comments.

Hahaha, so Hasim Thaci is modern era's George Washington? You people are hilarious. Maybe that's why the Americans love him so much.

So all of the former UCK commanders have become politicians? Nice political scene Kosovo has. The western world must be proud.

Most of them. But you must have look further back. Kosovo is far from a modern democracy, but more like a clan based society, with several local mafia clans ruling the country. The fact that these mafia clan leaders were KLA commanders is not the reason for them to become politicians, they only jumped on the 'freedom fighter' bandwagon to improfe their drug, weapon and human trafficking business. These clans later turned into political parties. What they think about 'democracy' you could see in the last elections with massive fraud and vote manipulations. Those are the people who are in power in Kosovo. But hey, there's an opposition, too: They call themself 'self-determination movement', support a 'greater Albania' and can be compared to Serbian radicals or similar nationalist extremist groups in other countries.

Curious who would you think should be the leaders of a new country if not the leaders of the movement that created it? The first president of the US was GENERAL George Washington. It takes a few years for new leaders to come into place.
But at Serbia whose former leaders are in the Hague for war crimes and current leaders are being arrested one by one for corruption. I guess the East must really be proud.

Hopefully Limaj and Thaci will get involved in some large gun fight and take each other out. That would solve a lot of problems.

I believe you are a biased hypocrite, Ben, that never sees an Albanian as guilty of anything. The way you talk and think, Kosovo, Albania, etc., are full of Albanian Saints. Why do you think that the KLA committed no war crimes, Ben, when all evidence points to that they did?

The reason behind this is Thaci , he`s eliminating his political opponent Limaj because the elections inside the Democratic Party of Kosovo will be held soon and Limaj is the 2nd most voted man in this party , he`ll run for the president of DPK which doesn`t suit Thaci because he might lose the power and the party presidency ,so he found a nice way to fool Limaj around his old mate from KLA.

Double jeopardy has been removed in the UK because it stopped criminals fro going to jail when new evidence comes to light like DNA. What a savage country it is to put guilty people in prison. People who support double jeopardy laws support criminals.

1) double jeopardy is unknown in most European countries
2) it does not apply only to similar and not knew charges.
3) statutory limitation does not apply to war crimes
