Amer, good point. However, the EU isn't against poor people, they're only against poor Europeans. The EU has shown their liberatarian ways by welcoming "other" people from even "poorer" countries.

They'll reject a Serb no problem, but Lord forbid they reject a Somali.

Has Europe never heard of the concept of the "attractive nuisance"? If you have something that common sense suggests will attract others, then you are responsible if something unfortunate happens when others are in fact attracted. For example, if you build a swimming pool in your back yard, you are responsible if somebody jumps in one fine night for a swim and drowns - you were supposed to build a serious-enough fence to keep them out. (In case you've ever wondered why American back yards look like prison compounds... )

So, Europe builds a rich, generous society complete with liberal laws and institutions, but doesn't want to take responsibility for attracting poor people? And then it says its the problem of the governments of the poor countries to find some way to combat human nature, which obviously is to go where the living is better? (A question: do private swimming pools in Europe have fences around them?)
