The border has been there since June 1999, but you failed to see it. Days away is the implementation of IBM.

Why is it so essential that Serbia join the EU?

I mean, African states live on international aid and other handouts; nothing improves, the people become poorer and poorer in a spiral of dependence on outsiders. Success from outside is no success; success from within is the real thing...

Switzerland, Norway, numerous others, especially Turkey, manage quite well without being a part of the EU.

If it means giving up, or better said giving away, areas where only Serbs live, in order to be "a little closer" to joining the holy EU, then this hardly seems very intelligent.

Sorry if this comment offends any serb patriots commenting here, everybody knows how difficult it is for Serbs to be robbed of the "us against the rest of the world" isolationalist satisfaction.

Actually the border has been there since at least the early 1970s -- if not earlier.

I assume Vojislav is be very satisfied for that since he is one of the strongest supporters on UNSCR 1244 and UNMIK.

I think Kostunica is the only voice of reason in Serbia. The Serbs already gave up their patriotism for the sake of Jugoslavia, they should't do it again for the sake of the decaying EU that has nothing to offer to them but threats and blackmails. At least Jugoslavia had an ideology that united all South Slavs under its flag. The shameful Gotovina verdict is the perfect excuse for them to freeze all negotiations especially the ones with Thaci. The Serbs have been alone in this world before so once more isn't gonna hurt them. Otherwhise the very existence of their country is at stake.

After he signed a DSS proclamation dubbed “Serbia is threatened”, the DSS leader stressed that the main danger to the state was the establishment of borders inside Serbia, i.e. between central Serbia and Kosovo which is expected in early December.
