Minister presents EU official with Dušan's Code

You should be proud on this code, as it will always remembering how old nation you are and how big contribution you gave to the European culture, even 1000 years ago. This code is just one pearl of your participation to the European culture and history. I know a lot of facts from your history and I know very good that this continent wouldn’t be the same without Serbia. You are grate nation with very intelligent and traditional people, maybe the last nation with old European noble knightly spirit. Some or all EU politicians must be better informed about very rich and authentic Serbian culture. Sometimes I am ashamed cause of their lack of information, lack of knowledge etc.. and that’s why I am writing this text.

Dusan's Code gave people individual rights that Europeans could only dream of during the 1300's, that man was truly ahead of his time and this Code needs to be more celebrated in Serbia and Europe.

I agree with you that Stephen Dusan was the greatest leader of his time and the Serbian empire was the most powerful country in the 14th century Balkans. His Zakonik though was based on preexistent byzantine law and mainly on the Constitution of Mathaios Vlastaris. So it's fair to say that the Byzantine Empire was the most civilized country of its time. Wouldn't you agree?
