Nothing for Vuk or the daily to be concerned about because nothing will be blocked. There is no harm for UN or anybody to discuss about UN courts. It has happened in the past (for the last time, just about one month ago) and it will happen again. In any case, no debate is going to review or reverse judgments of the court and everything regarding the court is controlled by Russia, China & co in the Security Council, not Vuk.

Vuk has guts! For this I and all the GOOD people of the world are thankful. I cannot see, however, how any nation could go against a debate. A debate is nothing more than a debate. Indeed, those for the tribunal and those for the release of the mass murderers the other day (i.e., the two Croatians), will have their say. Are words so powerful that some people are that fearfual of hearing them? This is pathetic behavior. Intellectuals debate on a daily basis. We in the academic ranks are constantly arguing our worldviews. This arguing helps shape our views to something better than the original. Debate is a welcome process to those whom wish to achieve wisdom. Obviously those who eschew debates are hiding something and as a consequence will never achieve wisdom. I feel sorry for them.

It's doesn't surprise me that the leaders of the "free world" the U.S.A and Britain are against an open and transparent debate over a tool of intimidation that they have created. These 2 "world leading democracies", on international affairs are all about issuing closed door ultimatums not democratic style debates.

America knows that the obvious thing to do is to put Euro-American Politicians on Trial at The Hague, and to say that All Balkan Groups were guilty to varying degrees, but Only after America deliberately engineered those Balkan wars.

It would be proper to Close that Shameful Euphemistically called International Criminal Tribunal For the Former Yugoslavia, and Release all the Prisoners in Order to do a little Justice after all of the Great Injustices that was done by America, and its Disgusting Evil Puppets, and as a necessary basis for Reconciliation in the Balkans.

Some can downplay it all they want and say whatever they wish by attempting to belittle Jeremic ...
(Ari Gold, 21 November 2012 12:03)

I for my part don't downplay Jeremic's importance. I deny it's very existence. That debate is practically of zero relevance, taking place in 6 (!) months and one of many discussions in and outside the UN. Let it be, or not, so what..?

It is very unlikely that any country would try to block that debate due to its insignificance. That is just the comedian Jeremic and his unlimited big ego. In fact that behavior of a stubborn child just compromises him and Serbia even more.

The debate is on all ad hoc tribunals and courts not specific to ICTY. Jeremic failed to mention that such a debate would have no effect on verdicts passed. However, it could have an effect on future courts or tribunals. But since the appointment of a tribunal is under UNSC authority, it may yield information but will not prevent them. But as of right now I only see Serbia as the big opposition leader. Not seeing a lot of reaction to the recent ruling from other governments.

Some can downplay it all they want and say whatever they wish by attempting to belittle Jeremic and his position, but it no doubt serves as a major benefit for Serbia to have him at such a high position at the UN.
