I know Serbia’s situation, but how many children live in poverty in the US? Perhaps freedom and democray keeps them warm and fed.

Say there are 1B in the US because as you've shown with excellent analysis the US has collapsed already... But being ignorant in economic affairs, I'm not sure though how that helps the 400k in Serbia. But I trust you that as CE of the B92 forums you must have found some solution for the 400k in Serbia which depends on the number of children living in poverty in the US.

Of course Count, you are correct there are no hungry kids in the US because as I said before they are sustained by freedom and democracy. Remember head out of a***and maybe you will see something for a change. But I do like the part about Kosvoa and Albania; you must live in a very rustic community to have come out with that one.

I was in that region in the last 15 months on a conference and as part of the Albania sell for investment they took us to see a project but on the way there the bus broke down just two hours outside of Tirhana, your capital city, and we got out to wait for another bus. While waiting some went to the facilties in that village; toilet was a pit in the ground and water came out of a well and there was no electricity.

Yes, I can see just how much better you’re off.

For your information from Slovenia to Macedonia they are doing it tough, but these places are much better off than Kosovo or Montenegro.

It sounds that you have never been to the U.S. I've been to many areas of America and have never seen a starving child, on the contrary. Poverty is relative, a poor kid in Serbia may not always have enough to eat, whereas in America a poor kid may not have a choice of what to eat, but still has plenty to eat. Poor American kids are not skinny as is the case for poor Serbian children. The same is true for poor Albanian children as is for American ones, there are no starving or skinny Albanian kids in Albania or in Kosova. sj, you should go and see for yourself rather than be duped by Serbian propaganda.
(The Count of Kosova, 21 November 2012 14:53)

Go to any major city in United States and you will find people well under the poverty line, so stop being an racist fool. This is a problem that is faced upon all balkan countries, and just to show how ignorant you are, "Albanians doing fine in kosovo" ya right, you wouldn't be begging USA for all this financial help. Everyone is struggling in the balkans, serbs. croats. bosnians, albanians.

its an ongoing issue and it can be only solved when people start respecting each other..

There are indeed malnourished children in the United States. Forty nine percent of babies born in the US get food supplements from the government! Every day, children in every county in the United States wake up hungry. They go to school hungry. They turn out the lights at night hungry.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/hunger_at_home/hunger-home-american-children-malnourished/story?id=14367230#.UKznNIY_cVA

As many as 17 million children nationwide are struggling with what is known as food insecurity. To put it another way, one in four children in the country is living without consistent access to enough nutritious food to live a healthy life, according to the study, "Map the Meal Child Food Insecurity 2011."

why show this news this is a world wide problem not just serbia in albania for example 40% of the country is in poverty and the same with kosovo albanians even worse and in croatia is the same.africa and asia is in the worst possible shape.do something about it,not just talk about it.government should help instead of talking patriotic none stop ,like serbia this and serbia that but people arre in total poverty.
(tim from canada, 20 November 2012 17:57)

Your stats and figures are incorrect.

12.4% of Albania lives under the poverty line as of 2008.
Compared to 9.4% in Canada, also as of 2008.
In Kosovo in 2010 there was 30% of the population living below the poeverty line compared to 34.4% in 2009. Big drop in 12 months.
8.8% of Serbia's population live below the poverty line, that is better than Canada.

It is shameless that only few hours flight from any European city divides country in which you can find almost half of the million children living in poverty. We should help Serbian people, as soon as possible!
