"Of course, she said, he left as a boy and returned a man. What was the biggest change, they asked? Well, she said, when he left he had nine fingers (he lost a finger as a locksmith) and when he returned he had all ten."

Funny. Hey, this story even made it in into the 10 biggest conspiracy theories, together with the lunar landing hoax. But they mention that he was missing three fingers, and the Tito fake was even playing piano. LOL

"Kerum then said that a majority of Croats shared his opinion, "but dud not dare to speak up"."

An a majority of western countries wonder why there was a war in the balkans.

Josip Broz was a half Slovene/half Croat literate peasant. Before WW1 he was an apprentice locksmith. He was conscripted into the Austrian army and sent to the Russian front. The Russians captured him. That was the last his family heard of him until 1948.

The story is that he remained in the Soviet Union, joined the Communists and married. He was involved with the Yugoslav Communists, then based in Moscow, and returned to Yugoslavia in the late 1920s.

For over a decade he lived in a secret communist underworld using the name Tito (no one then knew his “real” name).

The war ended in 1944 and Tito became the leader of Yugoslavia. It was at this time we learnt about Josip Broz.

The differences between Tito and Broz were remarkable. Broz was a poorly educated peasant. Tito was sophisticated, highly educated, spoke several languages and played the piano. He mixed comfortably with Kings and Queens and stars from Hollywood. He was also a bon vivant, with a taste for the good things in life.

After 4 years as leader of Yugoslavia, Tito decided to visit his aged mother who he had left 34 years previously.

After the meeting, enthusiastic Yugoslav reporters asked the lady if she was proud of her son’s achievements. She said she was. Had he changed? Of course, she said, he left as a boy and returned a man. What was the biggest change, they asked? Well, she said, when he left he had nine fingers (he lost a finger as a locksmith) and when he returned he had all ten.

'Tito was a foreigner put into power by powerful external forces'

Michael Thomas.

Evidence, Michael? That's too serious a statement to be left unsubstantiated.

Tito was no Nazi and he was also no Croat.

Tito was a foreigner put into power by powerful external forces. My guess is that he was Austrian.

The great Croat broom and carpet lifting machine in action again. By the way Prince, Tito may have been a lot of things but he wasn't a Nazi.

So sad, too bad

Of course he will not face charges. Serb bashing in Croatia is a national past time. This is also a country that celebrates its Nazis war heroes as well as the ethnic cleansing of over 200,000 Serbs from their homeland!
