"Belgrade has no power in Kosovo but of course pristina does. Why doesn't pristina just destroy all the parallel institutions?"
(Brian, 15 November 2012 18:11)

Because Pristina has no power at all, especially not in the north, and KFOR is fed up of repairing and cleaning up the mess some extremists in Pristina caused with their unilateral actions. That lesson should have been learned from last years experience.

LOL! This is what happens when you attempt to negotiate with the mafia. They simply don't know how to negotiate. They just "demand".
(Zoran, 15 November 2012 21:21)

Yep! And in the end, they're forced to capitulate. Thaci knows this, which is why he's making the ultimatums he is so he can placate the extremists in his camp when he's forced to make concessions and put the blame on the international community. At the absolute least, substantial autonomy for the north is guaranteed :)

However, show some proof that Kosovo was part of Albania?

My father bought it for my birthday. I am looking for receipt when I find it, I will show to you. Promise!

Why doesnt the "government" of Kosovo shut down all the parallel structures? Or jail all those who administer them? Or convince the Serbs to abandon them. Belgrade has no power in Kosovo but of course pristina does. Why doesn't pristina just destroy all the parallel institutions?
