My point is Germany is attractive to lots of people across Europe, and the world.
Yours is what Germnay wants or do not want. That is another matter all together.

But the fact is that they are SERBS! and not ALBANIANS! stop throwing your problems at other people and recognize that serbs are fleeing from Serbia, one of the poorest countries in EU.

I have seen links to articles in non Serb newspapers where it shows the opposite. So unless you can post links to something which backs up your claim then you really don't have a claim. You are only writing what your imagination tells you.
It is you who should get back to reality and see things as they really are and not try to convince others based only on your views of how things can look better for you.

True, but Germany doesn't want to have refugees from Kosovo. One of the reasons why they recognized Kosovo as independent: To send back all the refugees who claim to be persecuted (but of course only wanted to escape poverty and 60% unemployment), because Kosovo now is an 'independent and democratic country where minority rights are respected'. Only human right groups know (or want to know) the situation a bit better, and so they complain about Roma being sent back to Kosovo, because they are harassed there by the Albanian majority.

Albanian: German officials provided these figures, to which I have access in my current role. They have raised this issue with the Serbian government and others in the region. I do not need to 'convince' anyone and you are free to be as sceptical as you like but take that up with the German Interior Ministry who provide the figures (it was actually 97.4% but I rounded it down).

1. Serbia is not in EU.
2. If you mean poorest country in EUROPE, then you are wrong, it's Albania, Moldova and Kosovo (in case you belong to the group of people who want to believe that Kosovo is a country)

What the EU either fails to understand or simply doesn't want to accept is that it is almost impossible to prevent people from leaving their own country, not least when that country has land borders (as opposed to being an island like the UK) with EU states. Any attempts to prevent Roma from moving around freely would be viewed very dimly by the EU who often launch campaigns to highlight the plight of these people. If Brussels experts know so much about the Roma they will be fully aware of their propensity to travel from place to place without putting down roots. Not for nothing is Roma an anagram of 'roam'.

The bottom line is that Belgrade (and Skopje, Sarajevo, Tirana) has very little, if any, control over the actions of these people and to threaten withdrawal of the visa free regime for this reason would be counter productive. Many in Serbia already believe that Kosovo is more important than the EU and this proposed action would simply drive everyone else into that camp.

I can careless if these Serbs get annoyed by any of my statements which I had no intentions to annoy them to begin with as usual. Serbs are well known to point fingers towards others when they cannot admit it and man up for whatever the case may be. In this case were talking about Serbians leaving Serbia and searching a better future, that's no surprise for any country in the Balkans where its citizens leave because they simply have had enough of their governments BS. What seems to bother Serbs in this case is the number of Serbian asylum seekers happens to be the largest from our region. That may be because Serbia's population is larger than most Balkan countries. My argument is, why can't Serbians take accountability and stop pointing fingers at others. I do not know where you get your information from Taylor, but had it been 97% Gypsies that is a significant number that stands out. I am sure this would have been clarified to Serbian officials, maybe EU would even require Serbia to better conditions for one of the minorities in this case gypsies. It is hard to convince anyone that the German officials have not put these pieces together and clarify Serbia about it. It is obvious it is Serbians who are leaving their country, gypsies and Albanians have been leaving Serbia for years. All of sudden it's just gypsies and Albanians? Ned Taylor You need to come up with something more convincing.

Albanian: We are on my specialist subject here for a change and I can assure you that the vast majority of these applications (97%) come from Roma. This information comes to me directly from my counterparts in Germany who work on these issues. There may well be many Serbs leaving Serbia because of the economic situation, as is the case in Romania and Bulgaria, but they do not claim asylum. Usually they work illegally or are 'students'. I find myself siding with Ari Gold for once.........not great.

It might suit your narrative to believe that these claims come from run of the mill Serbs or you may simply be saying this to annoy your Serbian brothers on this site; either way you are plain wrong.

Why can't Serbians ever take responsibility? Every time there's news which Serbians do not like they quickly find excuses. Albanians or Gypsies, can't you for once man up and be accountable? These are Serbian citizens, with Serbian names which is very easy to identify them from Albanians. Now Gypsies are more likely to change names for the sake of their advantages. That's not even the case here this is very simple it is Serbians who are leaving Serbia due to its economical collapse for a better future to countries where they see potential. There's nothing wrong with that either, Mr. Dacic would have done it himself had he not been in the position he is and the salary he receives monthly. Don't dis your own people just because they want a better life. What kinda people are you Serbs?

There was a news program that showed something similar; Over 20,000 Hungarians have come to Canada (they don't need visas) seeking asylum over the past 3 years. More than any other country in the world Turns out they are all Roma. Similar situation in the Czech republic. Looks like you guys in Europe have gotta find a way to get the Roma out of the difficult situation over there.

I call BS on this. This is most likely German lies as they want to punish Serbia for not bowing down to them. Articles on b92 always suggest it is Germany that these "Serbian" citizens are requesting asylum. What about other countries? Are people really this stupid to keep trying in Germany after they have been complaining about it every month for a very long time? Why not try other countries?
(???, 13 November 2012 15:27)

Exactly, if it isn't pro-Serbian then it is a lie.

Well there were over half a million Serbs living in Germany back in 2004, maybe Serbian Serbs want to live with other Serbs in Germany?

I'm surprised that international media (and B92 included0 seem to agree not to mention that the vast majority of these asylum seekers are roma/gyspy. Who do they think they are protecting by not publishing this information (that serious academics and experts on asylum and immigration do mention)?

"Are people really this stupid to keep trying in Germany after they have been complaining about it every month for a very long time? Why not try other countries?"

Very simple: Because the money given to the false asylum seekers from Serbia is highest in Germany. They know well that they never get asylum granted, they only come for the money/welfare, and they know it takes some months until they are sent back. That's why they are called 'false asylum seekers', they abuse the system that was meant for people who are persecuted in their states.

Zoran

pre 11 godina

LOL! Asylum seekers? Looks like the Gypsies and Albanians from Serbia have caught onto the idea of free money from Germany (and other EU countries). They are not seeking asylum but rather getting a year's worth of money from the German government. When their application is denied and payment made they move onto the next country. Free money from the EU. It is no wonder these so-called asylum seekers are increasing.

Commentator

pre 11 godina

When I read the most recent number from false asylum seekers among Serbian citizens I almost fell from the chair. 50% more applicants in October compared to September and September was already a record month.

It goes even further. Gerd Landsberg, the director of Germany's city and county association, told the Bavarian press that some in Serbia actively use brochures and adds labeled with "over-winter staying in Germany". Unbelievable (or not)! He urgently demands that the borders for Serbian citizens must be closed since the visa application for the real refugees, such as from Syria, cannot be processed, while Serbian citizens flood the visa application offices.

Overall, I believe that this was now the last straw.

The writing is on the wall. Serbia will loose its free visa access to Schengen countries. This is a very sensitive matter in the EU, and on top of it it will also have an impact in setting the date for the beginning of the EU talks. As usual, Serbia is its worst enemy.

It is obvious it is Serbians who are leaving their country, gypsies and Albanians have been leaving Serbia for years. All of sudden it's just gypsies and Albanians? Ned Taylor You need to come up with something more convincing.

"Are people really this stupid to keep trying in Germany after they have been complaining about it every month for a very long time? Why not try other countries?"
(???, 13 November 2012 15:27)

Very simple: Because the money given to the false asylum seekers from Serbia is highest in Germany. They know well that they never get asylum granted, they only come for the money/welfare, and they know it takes some months until they are sent back. That's why they are called 'false asylum seekers', they abuse the system that was meant for people who are persecuted in their states.

Let's just find out exactly who some of these "Serbian" citizens mostly are, shall we?

True, but Germany doesn't want to have refugees from Kosovo. One of the reasons why they recognized Kosovo as independent: To send back all the refugees who claim to be persecuted (but of course only wanted to escape poverty and 60% unemployment), because Kosovo now is an 'independent and democratic country where minority rights are respected'. Only human right groups know (or want to know) the situation a bit better, and so they complain about Roma being sent back to Kosovo, because they are harassed there by the Albanian majority.

1. Serbia is not in EU.
2. If you mean poorest country in EUROPE, then you are wrong, it's Albania, Moldova and Kosovo (in case you belong to the group of people who want to believe that Kosovo is a country)

Questionier I said something and your respnse was completly something else.
My point is Germany is attractive to lots of people across Europe, and the world.
Yours is what Germnay wants or do not want. That is another matter all together.
