Need i repeat: shelve the EU ambition until the EU sorts itself out. Concentrate on internal issues to stop Serbs leaving the country.
An experience on border exit from Hungary into Serbia left a sour taste a couple of years ago. Hungary's border officials need to be curtious and SMILE!!

It is true that our stanpoint is a little bit negative primarly because of the current economic crisis. It will be changed, but we must previously do the best from us to increase our export, to reduce inflation, to reduce a corruption, to make a systematic changes in all sectors and our complete society.

Joining the EU is a very important step so if the president truly wants to have a democracy then he MUST put this to a referendum. It is far too important to leave it to polls or his own opinion.

The story with the US becoming the largest oil producer is the most pathetic and desperate move at the moment. It is backwards oriented and the States will destroy massively the environment and poisen their tab water ressources, if they extract this oil. It will not solve any problems. Only if the citizens save energy and invest in renewable energy, they will be able to save their childrens future.
(Observer, 13 November 2012 13:23)

Oh really? I agree with you that fossil energy carriers are an outdated technology and ecologically a problem, but why this "suddenly" applies to the US when it was, is and will be common practice for Russia while never ever hearing those concerns from Serbs? I just see that the US are making use of their tremendous resources, making themselves energetically independent, decreasing considerably their deficit and consolidating their dominant role. Of course, that will cause environment pollution in Alaska, just as it does in Siberia, and of course along all pipelines. Never heard that this mattered the governments in Moscow or Riad, nor did those who enthusiastically embraced (useless) projects such as South Stream.

John, although it is clear that the US and EU will still be more than a millions times more capable of action than Serbia, even if their economy would decrease into half, your link is a very weak argument. How do you conclude that there exists "the fact that most citizens do not want [EU] membership" and that Nikolic rules "against the will of [his] own people"?

You two should learn to stay in facts and not just go and invent them. Both of the biggest parties, SNS and DS, with their leaders, announced very very clearly before latest elections that they are pro-EU parties. And these parties collected the majority of votes. Remember that?

If you base your claims on recent opinion polls... you are arrogantly wrong. You suggest state should be run based on opinion polls that tell the opinion of approximately one thousand people, of which 60% (approx. 600 persons) are against EU?

You must be out of your minds, boys.

Serbia to continue towards the EU despite the fact that most citizens do not want membership. My friends, Serbs are living in a near dictatorship. The only reason why its not outright totalitarian is because Serbs can still vote these people out but the political class only works for themselves and their inner circle. And whenever there is a hint of true opposition on the Serbian political scene, they are quickly silenced.

Nikolic, Dacic, Tadic etc. don't make no difference! They are all very dangerous people who will try to keep the overall political establishment in Serbia in power even if they have to perform quick cosmetic changes by replacing one clown for another.

Serbs need to not even worry about Kosovo i Metohija right now. Finance the Serbian institutions and ensure protection of Serbian families. But the true battle for liberating Kosovo i Metohija from temporary occupation begins in Belgrade, where Serbia's true enemy lies.

you can only rule for a certain period of time against the will of your own people, and you can lose cridibility only once.

we will see whether the current president is a real patriot or an american puppet.

but the Albanians shouldn´t fool themselves, things will change, I am quite sure of that. and the US are only starting to suffer from domestic problems... and I do not mean the internal division of the USofA. those ideas of secession are only spread for domestic purposes - the real partition will need more time.

but then again, Serbia will have all the means to restore law and order.

just sit back and wait, my dear k-albanian friends...

Nikolić stressed that the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Priština was in the interest of all citizens of Serbia, primarily Serbs who live in Kosovo and Metohija. "

The Serbs in KS are soo happy about the new border control. Nikolic has problems to understand at all the ongoing affairs?
