Nothing can change our traditional good relations, between our countries. Mr. Nikolic seems like a very decent man and experienced politician who should make forward our relations.

LENARD @ History says that not only me . Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia as allies fought the ottomans at the beginning of 1st balkan war 1912 but later Bulgaria declared war against, both Greece and Serbia .The liberated lands by Serbian army were part of the medieval great Serbian kingdom (Dusan) So what is your objection to my post?

Serbian people are traditional honest friends and allies with Greeks not only from balkans war era ,but from medieval era with Stephen Dušan . MITSOS MITSOU how can you say that when Greece and Bulgaria were fighting the Turk hordes. The Serbs were were making a another greater Serbia at its neighbours territorial expense to determent of the war effort in the area.

"Merkel is hated and was not welcome in Greece for obvious reasons. The Greeks have suffered because of the Germans both now and in the recent past"

Instead of complaining and blaming others, Greeks should work harder.

Lenard,

Just wait for Croatia to enter the EU it will be the same thing. Croatia like Greece relies heavily on tourism, the government will spend lavishly to prove to its citizen that the EU is a Eutopia of sorts. They will get accustomed to living beyond their means and the German Chancellor will pay Zagreb a visit under military protection.

Merkel is hated and was not welcome in Greece for obvious reasons. The Greeks have suffered because of the Germans both now and in the recent past, Serbia on the other hand are not enemies of the Greeks so why would Nikolic need thousands of body guards in a country he is welcome?

Robert it dose when the Greeks borrow like their is no tomorrow and then cook up fake books living well beyond their means. Now that they have to return what they spent frivolously now they are big sore heads. Yes Serbia and Greece have a lot of the same sore headed traits. Its being under the Turks occupation for centuries definitively rubbed off them the wrong way. When Merkel comes to Croatia she has a wonderful time dose not have to fear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCxulFgT938&feature=related .

I think that says a lot when the President of Serbian can visit Greece for multiple days under light security, whereas when Merkel visited Greece for several hours, Greece had to mobilize 4000-5000 soldiers for her escort.
