"EU trap is test for Serbia's government"

The government's success depends on whether it will be able to extricate the country from the trap of European integration, says Vojislav Koštunica.

" Next elections DSS will be back"

hmm. Why did DSS's vote go down in this election, loosing almost 30% of their support. (down to 7%"

Is this some sort of "strategic retreat"? Just a flesh-wound?

This kind of people are very important to have in the government since i see that the new gov. is distracted of all the promisses they got from EU, USA. They should not think to much about money and keeping their word if the kost is to sell serbia. Enought with anti serbia propaganda and i hope eu isnt just good to us when they need something from us!!

The leader of the opposition DSS party and former Yugoslav president and Serbian prime minister said the integration was used as a tool for the disintegration and impoverishment of the country. Yes the ex Yugo republics suffered and were impoverished because of Serbia. Yugoslavia aka Serbo-slavia was used to steal from other republics and wage a war against them such things not seen since WW 2 that led to total disintegration even of the war-waging culprit Serbia. That no body wanted to stay in the Serbo-slavia. Just imagine if everything was done peacefully and equitably what a different region ex Yugo would be and could of been in so many ways. Serbia and Serbs would not have such a horrendous reputation of criminal underpinnings in the world and among its neighbours. Now as usual it operates with subterfuge with its daft minion in the country of Bosnia will Serbs and Serbia ever learn. Vojislav Koštunica is a bad leader any way you slice it and will bring Serbia farther down you had one good leader Zoran Đinđić but murdered by Serbs, Serbs their own worse enemy.

"I don't understand why Serbs voted for a pro-EU party if the EU is so popular over there. "
(Nikolle, 6 November 2012 12:50)

I understand why Serbs didn't want to vote for DSS because Kostunica already failed before as prime minister and leader of a government.

Asked whether he considered the new government an overall improvement on the previous one, Koštunica said the government led by the Democratic Party "was so disastrous that it is beyond comparison."

Well, the government that was in power under Kostunica didn't achieve any results except deterioration of Serbia, so, compared to that, the (almost) standstill under Tadic can be seen as an improvement.

Is has already started. The pro (i.e. no alternative to) EU party (DS) have been voted out. Now we have a not-so-enthusiastic pro EU party because we are being forced there. Next elections DSS will be back and we will have a no-KiM, no EU party.

Still, he said the government had shown some positive sides - from fighting crime and corruption to stopping "the detrimental policy that the EU has no alternative."
Kostunica is a winding snake without any clear position during is time in office. He has never missed one trap from abroad. He is a person from yesterday.
