as a sidenote, it doesn´t surprise at all that you are even wrong with your remarks about tennis and soccer as being english...
tennis is a french invention, if at all. and soccer or football, like the english call it too, has been played in china a few thousand years ago.
but...well, perhaps the illyrians have invented it, don´t you think so? =)
nevertheless, compliments to Mr. Đoković for a quite successful year!

Yes there is some truth that Tennis origniated in France but Tennis as we know it is due to England where we have played it for hundreds of years, with English Kings and Nobility popularising and developing the game. The rules of Tennis or Lawn Tennis were established in Birmingham in 1859. Tennis before that was a really different game.
Now to football (I hate the word "soccer" as we've been calling it football for over 1000 years). Yes in Ancient China and S.America they used to play games which resemble what we now call football, but their games by no means influenced the game which English peasants played 1000 years ago, the game was even outlawed 900 years ago. This is where the game orignated from and what developed into the Sheffield Rules in 1857, the rules that defined the game which is now played all over the world. Also it is the English and Scottish FAs which first governed the game we play and watch today.
And yes compliments to Dokovic, he is an out stand player. I wish Murray was as good as him!
