The Serbian officials don’t have to be honest because they are well past that stage – this is 2012 going on 2013 and not 1999. When is it going to sink into your little brain that we are living in a completely different world where the US or EU are no longer in charge?????? We, meaning the entire world, are going through a massive period of change where the west is no longer in charge.
Albania is a DUMP that is so far behind the rest it’s not funny and Tirana will NEVER take control Kosovo. How stupid are you people? MONEY RULES THE WORLD not crap from Albanian Diaspora. You have had your time and lost. The only thing I’ll do on the 28 is go to the lavatory to celebrate Albanias century LOL, LOL - you have sunk to a new low LOL.
Still waiting on how Kosovo is going to survive on its own.

It was after the bombing began - they had to move people from the vilages which the KLA turned into military bases and local civilians couldn't or didn't want to do anything with that - they didn't expell KLA fighters from their vilages that is.
(aaayyy, 5 November 2012 11:52)

Yep, they were so concerned about the evacuation and well being of Albanians in Kosovo that they even sacrificed the Serbs in Belgrade (which was bombarded even more than Kosovo by the evil NATO) and did not evacuate them. It's so unfortunate that the world did not understand the titanic efforts that Serbia was making to save the life of Albanians in Kosovo.

Nikole wrote "do you think you'll live to see your fantasy come to fruition Jovan?"

my dear k-albanian friend, first of all, I do not think it will take 500 years. the US of A are already experiencing a first smell of their downfall - since "Sandy" made clear to them that they cannot afford much more superpower-acting... actually the US have only three things left where they are the world´s no.1: in regard to the number of prison-inmates, the number of poeple believing in angels and in excessive military spending.
and as you will see tomorrow, the US are deeply divided, politically, with severe domestic political problems, not to forget their sky-high foreign debt.
that means they will sooner or later have to shut down military bases. and we will see whether you are so important to them as you would love to believe. =)
you asked whether I think I will witness your downfall? this is pretty much probable, although I cannot name you a certain date. but let´s just see what future brings!
I think you will change your tune, once you have grasped that you can´t prevent Serbia from taking back what is historically, morally and legally serbian.

and I think you´ll know already today that YOU are not a problem for the serb army, if they should ever be needed to pacify you little part-time rambo´s...

what you should keep in mind, my dear nikole, it took 500 years against the ottomans, a former empire. YOU will not be much of a problem. but I think you´ll not be so stupid try it...

Albanians are bla bla bla and Serbians are bla bla bla

Yes we get it the world is white and black and the 'other' are the devils and you are the angles and victims.

Now for those interested in public discourse analysis i can say that his statement is quite interesting because it hints at a possible Serbian stance on the issue.

Let me be more explicit... if he says that northern autonomy is a dream is not only pointing to his maximal position (which he would definitely give in exchange for recognition) but he is pointing to what should be of great concern to Serbs in terms of negotiating power; because if the Serb gov will really ask for northern autonomy it means that it has already recognized independence de facto and will de jure in the near future. One wouldn't ask for autonomy of a part that is considered part of the whole or even an autonomous part... there are no autonomyceptions if you will. His real message is that the Serbs have lost that little leverage of negotiating power that they had i.e. if that will be really their stance which i doubt frankly. Kosovo is not in play... the north and its future however... place your bets.

No one of Serbias "dreams" in the former YU-area became true. Therefore Thaci would be stupid to accept any kind of autonomy. It will come at maximum to a kind of little network in education and some aspects of health-service in some northern villages. Prishtina will get control over payments from Belgrade. And Prishtina will increase very fast the Albanian population there. At the end, there will be alos a Albanian population and at the Albanin "Flag day" some old Serbs in "national" costumes will hand over presents to the Albanian leaders like in China the national "minorities" at the Peoples Congress once a year. It is not a mistake of Thaci to follow the Albanian dreams. Its the problem of te Serbs not having strategic ideas and the knowledge or foreign support to realize them. With the border-control-agreement the West has fixed, that between Serbia and Northern Kososvo can not be developed a "single economic area". But the Serbs and also some people here are permanentely complaining about the conspiracy against Serbia. All was done with Serbias signature from Dayton to Kumanovo. Dont forget hwo Milosevic was speaking in Dayton (you can read it in details)about the Bosnian Serbs opposite the US-diplomats. How Dacic is speaking about the KS-Serbs opposite EU/US? Better not to know. Possibly Thaci is in this case more correct as the little "bosses" in Belgrade.

sj

You and Thaci are very much the same. You talk as if Kosovo is a mighty empire that surpasses the Romans and Brits when in fact it’s nothing but a little place with too many starving Albanians who can barely scratch out a living and if it wasn’t for EU aid. Kosovos official unemployment rate is 45% -that the part they count when in fact its anywhere between 75% and 80%
This is where they all come apart. The EU will not allow a large Islamic country in its environs; why do you think Turkey is being led around in circles??? It simply will NEVER join the EU.
Secondly you don’t have the MONEY – you know about money I can only guess? That stuff in your wallet that you need to buy goods and services???? Kosovo does not have and Albania does not have it.
You poor dumb and deluded individual, what do you think runs this world? Prayers to God, Allah or maybe Buddha? No its cold hard cash that done so since time immemorial.
However for our amusement do tell how Kosovo is going to serive on its own financially or what consequences will there be if it was allowed to join. Now remember don’t take into account EU help. Just show us how it’s going to work.
I was in your Albania 12 months ago and gee wasn’t it a dump. Two kilometers outside the capital and the villages still don’t have electricity or running water let alone a decent road.

It is pretty obvious that a deal has already been worked out (or perhaps mandated by the international powers involved).

Serbia is saying (every day) that it will not recognize Kosovo. Kosovo is saying that there will not be autonomy for the north.

Both sides are saying their lines, so that they can "compromise" and both sides will "lose something" and in the end, Serbia will recognize Kosovo and the north will have autonomy.

I think we should accept that this land is Serbian first and foremost and we Albanians should stop making claim to the titles of this land.

We arrived here after Serbs and their monuments are proof of this. We on the other hand have no proof of our so called long existence here.

We also were not as brave as the Serbians under Ottoman rule and we converted to Islam and changed all our first and surnames because we couldn't stand up to the Turks with honour like the Serbians.

The least we could do is stop claiming independence and turning their religious birthplace into a mafia run drug and human trafficking hub of Europe.

All you did was committed a genocide after another. Wiretapping within Serbian government? Exactly how proud should you Serbian be of your current government? Serbs are in no position to accuse Kosova, after all Kosova has every right to make mistakes every now and then. We just became independent less than 5 years ago. Could be - giving north Kosovo the kind of autonomy Vojvodina has (i.e., in name only) probably wouldn't bother the Albanians. The Serbs, however, will probably hold out for the kind of autonomy the Native tribes have in the U.S. - they make their own laws, and no one comes on their land without their permission, including U.S. (State, Federal) police.

I hope more Albanians will join me and see the light and speak the truth and stop supporting a global war machine (USA).

These aren't tiny little patches of land, either - the largest (that of the Navajoes) is about the side of Serbia. The size could increase, since it's linked to the size of the population, which is growing.

Thank you Hashim Thaci! Because of this, a sustainable deal will never be made and will eventually open up a lot of things for discussion. Thank you for not accepting partition, I don't either!

@Kenny:

I think you are wrong. I think that sooner or later it will be a total loss for the Albanians. and if they do not come to reason early enough this will be a loss forever.
now they are feeling strong, backed by the US - but the US will let them down, just as they have done it with the Pahlevi-regime in Iran, or with Saddam Hussein in Iraq...

and the Albanians will be losers again - if they stick to their current position.

in the meantime, Serbia is going to strenghten - and not only economically.

let´s just see what future brings - time works for Serbia.

ps: oh, and please my dear friends, don´t fool yourselves with faked nick-names! we all know that "nikola peric" is an albanian in reality, trying to create the impression as if there is something the Serbs have to admit. but you´re wrong. it is just the opposite! it´s the Serbs who have history, moral and justice on their side.

the Albanians tend to forget that.

"Prishtina will also grant some sort of autonomy for the north of Kosovo. It'll be a win-win, or loss-loss situation for both sides.
(Kenny, 4 November 2012 14:47) "

Could be - giving north Kosovo the kind of autonomy Vojvodina has (i.e., in name only) probably wouldn't bother the Albanians. The Serbs, however, will probably hold out for the kind of autonomy the Native tribes have in the U.S. - they make their own laws, and no one comes on their land without their permission, including U.S. (State, Federal) police. These aren't tiny little patches of land, either - the largest (that of the Navajoes) is about the side of Serbia. The size could increase, since it's linked to the size of the population, which is growing.

I hope more Albanians will join me and see the light and speak the truth and stop supporting a global war machine (USA).

why are albanian graveyards untouched in the serb-inhabited parts of KiM? because the "Serbs live with hate in their hearts"???

This might be true, but there's no such thing as an independent and sovereign Kosovo, only a self-proclaimed pseudo state that only depends on donor money, cannot stand on its own feet and that has no chance to become a globally recognized state (UN member) like the other 193 states in the world..."

There's around 100 UN recognized states that cannot stand on their own feet, Serbia being one of them. as for self-proclaimed, well true, however, it is recognized by USA, Japan, Canada...pretty much all of the Western hemisphere. so you know...write something more intelligent than that

Jovan

pre 11 godina

YOU will not be much of a problem. but I think you´ll not be so stupid try it...

pre 11 godina
