New bill will target tycoons, justice minister says
Justice Minister Nikola Selaković has said that tycoons and those who illegally obtained wealth will be affected the most by a new law on the origin of assets.
It is the last time for Serbia to establish a real justice system. In the meantime you must use the best possibilities of the current system and to use it for the public welfare but not only for a tycoons interest.
A new law on the origin of the property will eventually be a real instrument in the fight against corruption. Thus will see how people come to their property. In addition to the new law must be improved conditions in the judiciary and the police because there is no effective fight without an independent judiciary and non-corrupt police. This is a good direction in which to go in the fight against crime in general.
Serbia simply must have good coordination between police and justice. What is a purpose of justice system without arresting of the criminals, or if the courts do not prosecute and convict them. Now it is a time for this government to change this system by arresting, prosecuting and convicting. Serbia is the most corrupted country in Europe, so please don’t tell me that you don’t have a plant of evidence for this procedure. I believe that ex government was keeping it somewhere in archive as they didn’t want to make some positive changes and they were an active participant in these illegal activities.
Will the future law prosecute only tycoons. A lot of people are well-off enjoying enormous wealth that is not earned with NNEregular salary, having costly cars, a lot of apartments, yachts, having children educated abroad .Do you have their tax paying controlled. What about a large number of young guys who sleep during the day, spending nights in taverns , driving expensive cars and whose pocket money is higher than average two-month salary. Are they Daddy's sons, or ‘’resourceful and capable guys''. They do not even pay tax, except the costly car registration. I doubt they will be affected by the law
