“EU, U.S. are only interested in Kosovo”

The most important issue for the international community is the issue of Kosovo, believe Nataša Kandić and Sonja Biserko.

" why is a "human rights" activists offering her theorized opinion on international relations, and even more importantly, does b92 concern itself with her abstractions? Is she a philosopher of history or a human rights lawyer? The two are different from each other."

Promoting respect for human rights is one of the purposes of the United Nations - international law includes more than the protection of sovereignty. (Somebody tell Jeremic.)

The US and EU don't care about Kosovo, they care about its resources. By separating it from Serbia and in exchange its KLA buddies privatize the resource sector, US and EU companies gain. Wesley Clark's own company, Envidity, is in Kosovo right now. Same for pushing Serbia to join the EU. Corporate interests want access to telecom and banking infrastructures as well as hospitality, they don't care about quality of life. The only reason the EU wants "good relations" between neighbors is to facilitate trade, decrease costs and increase profit margins.

I'll tell you exactly why people like her say these things.

She has a relatively good job in Serbia. She has let go of her own ties to the land/country of Serbia and therefore is pursuing a higher salary to choose better holidays in her time off work.

She lost her spine many years ago and is ready to sell out Kosovo just so she can feel she is part of the EU.

In my eyes she's lost her identity as a Serb. Lucky we don't listen to women like her anyway. Same goes for Clinton and Ashton. It's Eastern Europe not Western Europe - real men not sissy boys.

We don't bow down. Can't say the same for our Albanian friends living in our southern province who converted their religion... where's the honour?

Serbia must not accept unilateral declaration of independence. This is much more important than Kosovo. This is about internatinonal law!

LOL! The EU/US is not interested in KiM. It is interested only in its ego and being right, at any cost. Mind you, it has cost a fortune so far and will continue to drain its economies. So basically, it doesn't like losing to little countries like Serbia but in the end, it will (just like the Ottomans, Austro-Hungarians and Nazis.

no, we won´t let the Albanians go with what is ours. this is not an option.

B 92 always claims to hold quality high but with articles like this they are only attracting bittered k-albanian teenagers...

of course the majority of Serbs does not see it that way, and those who pay for articles like this know that very well.

oh and...that´s very likely the reason so many k-albanians are flooding a serbian web site - it is the only serbian online-platform where they can read nonsense like this.

but, don´t you worry, my dear k-albanian friends... you won´t go anywhere with our land.

if everything else fails, there is still another option... milom ili silom...as we say.

Serbia will prevail, my dear k-albanian friends. sooner or later.

Sonja Biserko and people like her should be ashamed of themselves and put on trial for treason. Many people in Serbia are starting to wake up while realizing that a brighter future exists for their citizens without the EU. The EU is a mafia creation that enslaves the poorer countries into submission. If the EU was such a good thing why isn't England in the EU? Kosovo is Serbia and always will be. If this was such a done deal the international community wouldn't be pressuring Serbia into recognizing Kosovo as an independent state. My advise to the international community....more specifically to the EU and the US is: end the occupation of Kosovo and ask for Serbia to forgive you for breaking international law. Educated people understand what the end game is. There's still time for redemption. Zivela Srbija i Kosovo i Metohija.

“Kosovo needs to be let go of and we need to accept that,” Biserko pointed out and added that the EU would not include Serbia in its seven-year budget if Serbia did not cooperate.

The tides of change are slowly, but surly taking hold within Serbia! It has been stated here on b92 on numerous occasions that, in time the intellectuals within Serbia would realize sooner rather then later, that the independent state of Kosova is in fact a indisputable reality! Now these intellectuals must be strong and rally the population within Serbia! So that they may take charge of their own destiny, in securing a bright and prosperous future! They must oust the ultranationalistic personality's, that have caused so much havoc & misery upon the Serbian people & economy, and for what? Just to fill there own pockets, which greedily feed on the ordinary hard working Serbian people! It seems more and more that we are finally witnessing a trend for a better & more democratic Serbia! Let us pray for their success in this crucial period....
