A bold and welcomed statement i shall say. The red lines are drawn in the sand by both parties. North is the key and Belgrade has the move. What will it be?

Either way a middle ground solution will help both countries move forward and tackle real problems, such as economy and corruption.

He added that High Representative Catherine Ashton, who will act as the EU mediator in the talks, had said she would not impose topics for discussion and that everything the two sides agree on would be accepted by the European Commission and the EU."

sure that the EU is accepting what the EU is demanding from Serbia...how can the EU be a mediator...or is Thaci also a mediator? Only Dacic can not see the reality.
A "final solution" including status will only be the recognition of Kosovo...the US/EU refused any discussion about the status and Belgrade has accepted...the agreement about energy etc. would be the wrong way...first comes general a basic agreement, after this are coming the details following the principles, if Belgrade has de facto recognized Kosovo there is no need more for a basic agreement and also not for further EU-admission talks
