This lady speaks the truth. Tens of thousands of Serbs migrate each year for good and never return (usually the young). In addtion to a plummeting birthrate, Serbia is by far the worst in Europe. May not take a decade but Serbs as a nation will certainly disappear forever in less than a century and to the delight of Serbia's neighbours.

I thought historinas are talking about history...

seems like this old woman feels the need to speak into some mikes...

Serbs won´t disappear and Serbia will not gamble anything away - the EU is simply not the paradise some of our "yellow" friends or let´s call them traitors, wanted to make us believe.

and isn´t it interesting that this woman, nobody heard of here before, is right now being presented in B92? =)

strange, given that B92 is holding the quality of public speech high... as they claim.

Serbia is on a good way, slowly, but surely coming to terms with the socalled "EUSSR"...

Serbia has many more requirements to fulfill for membership in the EU than any other country. Serbia's membership depends more of EU, than of Serbia itself.

When I saw who was sitting next to this "historian" I lost any interest in this lady.

"According to Perović, the saddest thing is the fact that young generations already do not see their future in Serbia and want to leave once they have finished their education."

And how is this different from any other balkans country? Albanians are the only ones staying but not because they want but because they don't have free travel. This hisorian and her friend Ceda Jovanovic are the biggest threat to serbs and their identity. Thank God only 2 percent voted for those bafoons.

She's exaggerating. Serbia won't disappear, it's too big, it's more likely for some state like Montenegro (not to mention the pseudo-state of Kosovo) to disappear.

But yes, it's a sad thing that many young and educated people prefer to leave the country than to change it. They resigned, which is understandable when you look at the Serbian political parties with nationalist and extremist dominating the system.

Chances were wasted all the time, the biggest waste was the lost years after the fall of the iron curtain. Other states managed to have a peaceful transition, like Czechoslovakia, and they are on a much higher level now than Serbia.

And another thing: No, the latest election didn't only change the politicians, most of them didn't change at all, but the wrong people got more power. So it was a change, but not to the better.

Why Serbia has too many "historians"...they should better work as farmers
(Greg, 27 October 2012 20:14)

This is funny in a way. Even though Serbia has many historians, Serbs never seem to learn from their past mistakes. Maybe they're teaching Serbs the wrong facts.

First of all Serbia never had a chance to join the EU. Nobody respected the EU sycophants of the last decade, least of all the EU. If Serbia is to survive, it has to find the answers within Serbia, and not model itself after anyone else. Independence, sovereignty, political economic neutrality and global trade are the opportunities that must not be squandered.

When many people associated with these liberals were in power, you know post-OCtober 5, they can hardly be said to have improved Serbia

My advice is ban anyone who has been employed by a public party or hold or sought public office since the first democratic election from having any public office

REALLY?

YO ROCKY...Your melon has taken too many hits..go take a valium.

Serbia isn't going anywhere...it's been around 1000 years..and it's got a long future ahead. Nothing new for as some pseudo intellectual trying to scare the population into following some type of liberal communist agenda.

Siting next to Cedo explains a lot...apologist who deserves nothing more than scorn and punishment...send him to live with the peace loving albo trolls in kosovo.

Maybe Russia offers some kind of an alternative to the West.
What will remain of the West's values in two or three generations, when much of the urban population looks not to Rome but to Mecca?
Perhaps the Orthodox of the Balkans need to turn East.

Serbia's birthrate and population are falling, true, but the same is happening, if to a lesser extent, in most of the world. And considering how much pressure each new member of an advanced society puts on the world's environment, that's not such a bad thing. The major problem will be providing for the elderly, who consume without producing, but that doesn't necessarily require an ever-expanding population. Robots are already increasing productivity to such an extent in the U.S., for example, that manufacturing here is now beginning to compete with manufacturing in China. Cheap energy (shale gas for now, nuclear fusion or something comparably green in the future) and robots could make it possible for a smaller number of human workers to maintain a given population at a high standard of living without the constant worry about how to care its the non-producing members (children and the elderly). The trick, in the U.S., will be to ensure that the advantages of such a system don't all go to the owners of the robots - laws will be required, and there will probably be opposition, but every advance in history has encountered opposition.

A Communist who supports the EU?! what next? A Communist who supports the (Neo)liberal Democratic Party? - oh no wait.

She should go to EU member Portugal or Spain or Greece or Italy; where the people have "disappeared" and left their countries to work washing dishes and clean toilets in the UK. I call that having your chances killed off.
