Commentator,

"If you really want a peaceful solution then ask for the opinion of the people of Kosovo what they want. "

"No minority in a EU country is oppressed or has to live in state which it rejects. Even the Basques and Catalonians in Spain..."

This would resolve our problems quickly, if you really mean it. Just ask Serbs in RS in Bosnia if what they want too. And give them rights as you would to Basques and Catalonians.

If EU ever wanted peaceful solution that's what they would have done. Instead of asking people what they wanted, they insisted that former YU republics cannot be divided, and supported military options, like cleansing of the Serbs from Croatia.
Then, when it came to Serbia it turned out that they can be divided after all...
Do you have any explanation why Albanians should be asked what they want, but Serbs shouldn't?

I can understand where Serbs do not see the benefits to joining the EU as you won't see immediate effects on the personal level for quite some time. But I certainly cannot fathom how anyone could think that Serbia joining the EU would benefit the EU with the exception of not having a hole in the middle of it.
I am sure you do not have a clue how much money Serbia has gotten or will get from the EU, so understanding the why can be difficult. Trust me I am not trying to sell you on the EU as I do not think that Serbia is even remotely close to being ready.

Ethnically cleansing whole areas in Croatia and Bosnia, torturing and killing uncountless people which ended in the only real genocide....

Blah blah blah, every side has their own story and victims. Why should KiM become independent when K*-Albanians engaged in terrorism, organ extraction and genocide? Krajina and Republika Srpska declared independence straight after Croatia and BiH. The war followed because one group or people were permitted and the other denied independence.

Why would one insist to board the Titanic while it is sinking is beyond my comprehension. I've yet to hear or read any logic on how the EU would benefit the Serbian people. In fact, I would consider it an act of assimilation into a work force benefiting only the German economy (aka; Euro "bailout"). I believe that Mr. Dačić is an avid critic of General Nedić and Mr. Dimitrije Ljotić yet, he quests the same "protection" but for criminally far less benefit for the people he represents. We, Serbs, certainly do not need another " Tito's Yugoslavia", Mr. Dačić. What we need is to have politicians such as yourself to go into early retirement. Go fishing on the Ibar an reflect on the surrounding scenery created by your party's predecessor. What a reality check that would be...

"My friend, Serbs asked for those rights in Krajina and Republika Srpska, which were denied and resulted in war with hundreds of thousands of deaths and genocide against Serbs for the second time in recent history."

Ethnically cleansing whole areas in Croatia and Bosnia, torturing and killing uncountless people which ended in the only real genocide in Srebrenica and then demanding for legalizing that abomination is by far the most stupid claim I ever heard. The cross reference to Kosovo won't help you either, because the oppression came from Serbs not from Albanians who have been deprived for basic human rights for over a decade why using only peaceful means.

Of course you want to compare those to events, but they share only one thing: Serbian nationalism and hate towards all who are not Serbs. You payed the price for that in that way which was possible.

"That's why we Serbs just sit back and wait for the opportune moment. It is not that far now."

Far? I don't see much, just the dreams of revanchists who lost so dearly their aggressive wars and who put their desparate stakes in dreams. Even if we assume that there would be a chance, so what? As you claims that kingdoms, realms, states, empires came and disapeared, so that applies to Serbias. You will not get anything but the cycle of your failed myth and more lost generations, in which the worst case could end in nuclear holocaust. Expect that the people of Kosovo will not give even an inch of their freedom.

Even the not so democratic state and Islamic republic of Sudan understood that it is not possible to ignore the will of people, indefenitely. You will have to learn that too, no matter if EU or not. Currently, you don't have EU and you don't have Kosovo, something what many have projected.

My friend, Serbs asked for those rights in Krajina and Republika Srpska, which were denied and resulted in war with hundreds of thousands of deaths and genocide against Serbs for the second time in recent history.

Now if Serbs were granted that right then perhaps your argument about "Kosova"* and other places seeking independence would be valid.

It all comes down to Serbs being denied the right to self-determination but those opposed to us (i.e. those loyal to the NAZI axis) are granted it as once Germany reunited it had some scores to settle.

Well, being immature as it is, Germany will pay the price for that immaturity once again, as we are witnessing the EU falling apart and member states fracturing. The Flemish region in Belgium being the latests. These are natural cycles that form in history where greed, corruption and manipulation kill empires.

That's why we Serbs just sit back and wait for the opportune moment. It is not that far now.

"Serbia is facing great political challenges, such as the Kosovo issue, but the government is ready to face the challenges that await it and advocates peaceful solutions."

This are just hollow words. If you really want a peaceful solution then ask for the opinion of the people of Kosovo what they want. That would be really a peaceful solution. You don't want that since you know the (inconveniant) answer. As long as you reject that will, you will not go far, and you prove that you are not peaceful, but just incapable to oppress the will of freedom.

No minority in a EU country is oppressed or has to live in state which it rejects. Even the Basques and Catalonians in Spain still want Spain, though the situation deteriorates there and if the Catalonians want out of the state, it must be granted. Scotland and even Greenland are also about the go to referendum. Same there, if they want independence, it must be granted and the governments in London and Koebenhavn acknowledge that. Serbia must except that too. So your point that "no country has been asked to the same as Serbia has been asked for" is not valid. Even the not so democratic state and Islamic republic of Sudan understood that it is not possible to ignore the will of people, indefenitely. You will have to learn that too, no matter if EU or not. Currently, you don't have EU and you don't have Kosovo, something what many have projected.
