+1 for stating the bleeding obvious. The current government in Belgrade will not recognise Pristina's UDD so you can rule out the last option. Option 1 of Belgrade seeking partition and writing the rest off seems to be the most likely but the main obstacle will come from either Brussels or Washington so it is as you are........for the moment.

What I like is on the same day you can read how Serbs were bigger victims than Jews by a thousand % and then you read how they were the ones that won both wars while the allies sat on the sidelines.

EU membership is years away, so even if this is a final requirement to make, we'll have squeezed out so many additional concessions from Pristina and expanded our presence in Kosovo that recognition will be little more than a symbolic formality by the time membership comes. No one ever expected Kosovo to be a sovereign state, they just want it detached from Serbia. Albanians accepted international support for that at a very steep price. Looks like they'll have to swallow a lot more of their pride if they truly want to be regarded as a standalone country :)

What Serbia must do for it's own benefit is to continue it's "Constant flirting with Russia", so when the EU carrot finally gets too old and rotten to stay on the stick and the foolish people in Serbia realize that seeking the EU is not a quality they should desire from their politicians, then we already have negotiations started with Russia.

Nikolic was smart enough to know that because of the illusion many Serbs are under, the only way he could get into office is to make the EU talks part of his platform. It will be great when the day comes when Serbian politicians don't have to do that in order to get elected.

Serbia as independent country must protect their territorial integrity and sovereignty and not to be preasured to recongnize Kosovo as seperate state in order to be accepted in EU.The talks must continue between Belgrade and Pristina to find solution for the future no metter how hard or difecult it may be to achive lasting peace, democracy and prosperaty for all the people living Serbia.
