@Milan:

When Serb army wreaked havoc in Kosovo someone had to spoil the army's chances of wreaking continous havoc in Kosovo. But I suppose the best case scenario was when Milosevic and some his subordinates (I believe even including some Serbian cops)eventually had their "sorry" butts thrown in jail most notably in the Hague's detention unit.

Greece accepts as minorities the ones cemented with international agreements(muslim minority in the north of Greece). There are not other autochthonous minorities in Greece.

"However, the increasing Kurdish attacks against the security forces and the heavy losses they inflict upon them confirms that Turkey will be unable to placate the Kurds any longer. An independent Kurdistan is just a matter of time."

And Serbia will recognize that new state first :)

Nope. It only applies to Serbia. You get bombed if you don't listen. Complain all you want but small nations do not make the rules.

Mark,

That is why the US deserved 911. Getting attack by your own monster creations and the 3000 people who directly died led to the death of probably one million people. Now you do the math and decide what is fair or not. Case closed. Next!

I wonder? Did Turkey count the actual dead because at this rate even if Kurdish women were popping out children on a production line they could not recover those numbers?
Me thinks it’s the sweet smell of BS. Ankara claims “No casualties” on their side. Really? Even in that mountainous region?
I’m curious how they are going to account for all the deaths as a result of killing 17 insurgents – lives lost in training? I bet you these dead soldiers will be “posted” to various parts of Turkey – that’s how the US hide their dead. Oh well at least the Turks have learnt something useful for the US.

Of course Turkey denies there is a Kurdish problem in much the same way that they deny they illegally occupy Northern Cyprus

Of course Turkey denies there is a Kurdish problem in much the same way that they deny they illegally occupy Northern Cyprus and that there was ever a Genocide of Armenians and Greek Pontiaks. For years the Turkish army has been slaughtering Kurdish civilians with gay abandon, including crossing into Iraq to kill them. Last month for example, 500 were killed and the same again wounded. These killings has met with no international criticism at all (where are all the Western democrats gone)?

Turkey will continue its genocide towards the Kurds because NATO requires Erdogan to carry out its dirty plans against Assad and Iran. However, the increasing Kurdish attacks against the security forces and the heavy losses they inflict upon them confirms that Turkey will be unable to placate the Kurds any longer. An independent Kurdistan is just a matter of time.

"International community" should immediately stop this conflict and oppression of minority as they did in Serbia. Bear in mind that Kurds have far less rights then Albanians did in Serbia.
EU knows peace, although , I think Nobel prize should have been shared with world's most peaceful country - USA.
So, let's take it from them how to resolve such conflicts based on how it was done here...
First, all Turkish security forces should immediately return to the barracks so that Kurds can infiltrate positions. As Agim Ceku stated in BBC "Kosovo - Road to war"
"The cease-fire was very useful to us. It helped us to get organised, to consolidate, to grow."
KLA then started offensive ( from OSCE report - "...launched what appears to be a deliberate campaign of provocation".) No doubt, Kurds would too.
This situation could only be resolved by like of Rambulliet Agreement.
Turkey should withdrew from Eastern Turkey, allow referendum on independence of Kurds within 3 years, and allow foreign occupation of entire Turkey ending its existence as independent country.
Should they fail to accept this peace offer, peace should be bombed unto them, with emphasis on hospitals, schools, bridges, factories, etc.
As NATO spokesman said in 1999 - bombing civilian infrastructure actually saves lives, by crippling country's ability to wage war, making war shorter.
Hey...everything for peace...
