Maybe you should have read a bit more:

"The association representatives filed the suit due to the fact that Dutch soldiers who served in UNPROFOR “did nothing to protect the Bosniak population from the mass killings” COMMITED BY THE SERB FORCES in 1995."

So it's clear: Serb forces under Mladic deported and slaughtered the 1000s of people from Srebrenica. UNPROFOR soldiers didn't stop them. Clarified now, even for you, MikeC?
(Comm. Parrisson, 12 October 2012 14:16)

The question is why didn't the Dutch UN Peace Keepers stop it from happening and that is due to the p**s poor organisation and administration of UN peace keeping missions.

I feel really sorry for UN Peace Keepers, they can be getting shot at and they aren't allowed to shootback unless they have authorisation to do so. Only in extreme circumstances of self defence can shoot back without authorisation and they're usually in trouble after that anyway.

Maybe if UN Peace Keepers had more powers, the Srebrenica Genocide would have been prevented.

But how are UN Peace Keepers supposed to protect others if they aren't authorised to protect themselves? It is a joke!

"The association believes that the UN is responsible for genocide committed in Srebrenica in 2005."

So, Nikolic was right to say Srebrenica was not a genocide committed by serbian freedom fighters. Thanks for clarifying!

Ian-you see thats where you are wrong. Civilian casualties were very much in line with populations in Bosnia. And in Kosovo, Serb civilian casualties were almost 40% of the total with only 10% of the population. Go figure.
(Wally, 12 October 2012 12:07)

No that is not true. According to the 1991 Yugoslavia Census Bosniaks accounted for 43% of BiH's population, Serbs 31.2% and Croats 17.4%.
The Civilian deaths in the Bosnia War were Bosniaks 84.1% of the total civilian deaths despite accounting for 43% of BiH's population. Serbs were 17% of the Civilian Deaths despite accounting for 31.2% of BiH's population. Croats were 5.5% of the Civilian Deaths, despite accounting for 17.4% of BiH's population. You see Civilian Deaths were not in line with the population of Bosnia.

Serbs are the only ones who had increased their population number by the end of the War. 1,366,104 Serbs before the War (1991) and 1,484,530 after the War (1996). However I admit that is partly down to people considering themsleves as Yugoslavs in the pre-War population count. But some 1991 "Yugoslavs" willl have been Bosniaks and Croats too by 1996, yet the number of Bosniaks and Croats had decreased by the end of the War.

Ian - what a stupid statement. BTW, how is that organ-harvesting investigation case against the KLA coming along. You being in the UK, maybe you have more news about it, than we here in the Balkans. Srebrenica was a tragedy, but I feel that there was more going on there than meets the eye. For one thing, crimes, murders against Serb civilians by muslim forces, reinforced by foreign mujahideen fighters, is seldom if ever mentioned. It cannot be that only muslims were murdered in BiH. Maybe, one day all of the truth will come out?
(ecoman, 11 October 2012 21:59)

I was being sarcastic. You obviously missed that.

That Organ Harvesting case is coming along well. I mean Serbia even has a witness who was trained to extract an extremely complicated organ, the human heart; fit for a transplant in two days in some camp in Albania using a dummy with a hole cut out of it and filled with water and an animal's heart. Now he is able to perform such a procedure despite having no medical background what-so-ever and people who have trained in medecine for 7 years wouldn't have the slightest clue. A pretty believable witness I'd say (Sarcasm).

Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats all killed one another and comitted war crimes, no-one desputes that; all three peoples were victims. They just happed disproportionately with Bosniaks being the biggest victims and Serbs being the biggest perpetrators. No-one disputes that Bosniaks and Croats killed innocent Serbs. Just not in the same numbers.

After reading your comments I do not have sympathy for Serb politicians and military officials that are being penalized for the Srebrenica massacre,in addition,I don't sympathize with their Serb & non-Serb sympathizers or supporters.

The fatalities at Srebrenica were totally preventable, and it was the Muslim Serb Leader Alija Izetbegovic along with Presidents Bill and Hillary Clinton who schemed the Entire Incident to allow America an excuse to take the side of the Muslim Serbs over the Christian Serbs.

Muslim Serb Leader Alija Izetbegovic had an agreement with the Leaders of the Christian Serbs like Radovan Karadzic along with their General Ratko Mladic to give up the Muslim enclave that was the City of Srebrenica in order to make Bosnia Herzegovina divided between the Muslim Serbs and the Christian Serbs in order to end the Civil War.

General Ratko Mladic, and his men went to Srebrenica, and arranged for all the Muslim women and children, along with the Muslim old men and young boys to be trucked to safety, and only Males of fighting age who were heavily armed remained in Srebrenica.

General Ratko Mladic told those Muslim Soldiers that their lives would be spared if they laid down their weapons, and he gave then his word on that as a General and as a Man.

The Muslim Serb Leader Alija Izetbegovic, ordered the Muslim Soldiers in Srebrenica not to surrender as had been agreed, and we know that those Muslim Soldiers were killed in the fighting that ensued, and the blame for a supposed Srebrenica Genocide must be placed on Presidents Bill and Hillary Clinton and on the Muslim Serb Leader Alija Izetbegovic, and no other People or Organizations.
