In the negotiations between Serbs and Albanians will see what EU wants from Serbia and if Albanians are ready for any compromise.

Considering that Kosovo declared independence 4 years ago and has been recognized by 90+ countries, agreeing to come to the table to talk about any issues in Kosovo WOULD be a compromise, lets see if Serbia has any.
After all the starting point for Serbia is Kosovo as a UN protectorate under international security and supervision, with a totally autonomous government elected by the people of Kosovo free from any Serbia intervention and control. Now when you reach that level, Serbia can start talks of compromise, for Serbia will never get more than that.

Serbias public is getting the truth in very very small portions since years. Serbia is voting in all questions in int. org. in-line with the directives of the EU. The foreign "advisers" are sitting within the Serb ministries. Surely are their guidelines for the Serbs what is allowed in the coming talks and what not. There is only one question: is the Serb government following their own interests and the interests of the people (in Kosovo) or not. And so far the reaction of the people in the last elections and towards the "agreements" with Prishtina (or better: signing the prepared documents of the EU/Kosovo)shows that Serbia must sign in portion the total capitulation. The last speech auf the Hungarian PM has shown clearly the difference: he said, that the "strong nations" are going together and the weak nations are falling apart: a clear view towards Belgrade. If Belgrade will not dramatically chnage its way under the boots of Germany/Austria and Turkey, its possible over for the next 500 over with the Serbian state. Serbia must see how deep and for all years coming is the hate of the Germans/Austrians towards Serbia. In all TV-channels you can find endless movies with ugly Serbs. The Germans nver forget the defeat in WWII and the head of German Catholics had with his Nazi-famiy the home in Serbia. What friendship towards EU you can expect:

The Eurocrat talking heads are slowly losing their grip on Serbia. It is becoming clear that the carrot the EU dangled all these years in front of Serbia, is not as desirable as it once was - in fact, it may be undesirable. The EU is really in no position to offer anyone anything positive anymore, when it may be on the verge of collapse, or certain reorganization. Just look at the turn around statement coming out of Pristina today, about Serbian institutions in the North of KiM, they are now being regarded as legitimate by at least some of Pristina's politicos. I have stated time after time here, that nothing is written in stone, and there is no such thing as a done deal - not in the Balkans, anyway.

Any principles imposed by any party is an interference in domestic politics, I am sure that ms. Ashton is aware of that.
The only guiding principle in this process is to conduct the talks and resume the dialogue between Serbs and Albanians.
Given the media uproar after the German CDU delegation coming and "imposing" is used by some groups to create an image of Serbia as lacking any independent foreign policy. That's why what mr. Djuric states over here is plausible
