Danilo, how about there be an exhibit in Pristina where Mohammed is in a dress and high heels. What do you think the reaction would be from Kosovo's muslims? And how many KPS would be needed to protect the exhibit?
(ecoman, 4 October 2012 12:58)

About 2 years ago there was an Albanian painter that was showing his paintings in Belgrade and they had to have the special forces protect the gallery from the average Serb.

You can post any religious crap in Kosova or Albania. We are not attached to religions like Serbs because religions have been used against our ethnicity. The Serbs and Greeks used Orthodoxy against our ethnicity, the Turks used Islam, the Italian and Austrians used Catholicism. That is why religions don't matter to us. We called ourselves a Catholic, Orthodox,or Muslim for taxing purposes but as someone who's supposed to be Catholic I can tell you sc*** christianity, islam, judaism and any religion out there. They're nothing but idiotic myths.

I said this in another thread already today.

Why are Serbs CONSTANTLY comparing themselves to people/areas that are worse off (or that they perceive to be worse off). I have a gypsy that begs near my apartment. I don't congratulate myself for being better off than her; I strive to be better off than I am. This constant "oh, but it's worse in Pristina (so therefore what, I'm not sure), is a loser's mentality.

Anyway... If an art gallery in Pristina held an exhibit that offended the religious community I'd be on the side of the art gallery in Pristina, too. However, since I don't live in Pristina and have only passed-through there a few times, I find it a little difficult to get worked-up over this sort of gedanken experiment.

I didn't see anything either particularly interesting or something worth getting your panties in a knot over.

How many police were required today because the Ayatollah Irinej issued his fatwa against this exhibit? I heard 2000.

When's the book-burning? Maybe in a few months in response to the price of central heating going up.

And I hope someone will file charges against this patriarch for hate speach, spreading intolerance and calling for the revoke of constitutional rights of citizens. A shame!

I think you need to step out of your narrow mind and realise that the majority of the world does not share you opinion of promoting perversion and mocking religion, be it Mohammed or Jesus. The attacks on religion need to stop and as this is being done by the gay community, it is no wonder so much hatred is being directed at them.

You can see the type of photos at the exhibition here -> http://www.vesti-online.com/Vesti/Srbija/257571/Isus-medu-gejevima-na-Beograd-prajdu

From my point of view, Serbia doesn't need it. Keep it in the west where it belongs. If they think it's acceptable to mock religion then banning gay parades is completely acceptable also. We don't need that type of perversion in public.

I guess people have a right to shame themselves in public, but the government shouln't bear the cost for security and clean up. Let these shameful people put up the money. As far as the painting, Muslims wouldn't allow such a thing for Mohammed or there would be hell to pay, the same should apply here!

We all are aware that the Patriarch calls the shots in Serbia. But that's Serbia's internal problem dealing with its gay population! But the patriarch should stop his meddling in the countries of the region

The Patriarch speaks to matters of morality because that is his job. Insults to a religion are followed by persecution of religion. We all learned that in the 20th Century and such was the case throughout history. We can't afford the damage of attacking each others religions in the Balkans. Tolerances have long been exhausted for prejudice against religious groups.

I think it is silly to prevent the parade. If Communists wanted to have a parade in Belgrade, they would be permitted and ignored by the vast majority of reasonable people. Yet who has done more damage to Serbia and religious freedom- Communists or a hand full of Gay marchers. I think the Patriarch is asking for help from the wrong kind of person.

I think that if a parade takes place, and you are in moral opposition to it, it would be just to pray for the participants, it is outlandish to attack someone for moral reasons. When a Serb, who tragically self identifies as gay, is attacked remember Bill Clinton and his moral intervention.
