Although ,I understand the concept of the "pride" parade in the west...because in the 60's homosexuality was illegal and in some states it still is...but in the eastern countries of Europe...gay people have always had the freedom to be gay...let us not forget Myknos in Greece and the aria by the bus station in belgrade have always been a place for cruising...the headline should really be "All eyes on Serbia ,because of Persecution and Desecration of Christian minorities and Properties in Kosovo !!!"and let us not forget who's, allowing the Trafficking of Human beings through Kosovo???

"On the other hand, the Serbian church officials are calling for a ban. This is a legitimate request of theirs. A true democracy is a situation where everybody is entitled to express his opinion and wishes. "

Right, but the state is there to protect the constitutional rights of the people. Or Serbia should change its constitution and introduce a paragraph that explicitely forbids the public assembly of gay people. Do you think it's democracy when some extremists want to introduce death penalty, and the state is following it? Or do you wanna live in a Sharia state where co-called 'religion' determines what's allowed and what's not? Then I feel sorry for you.

She stressed that “all eyes are on Serbia this week”.
She noted that the Pride Parade organizers were “very brave”.
She also commented on the rights of the LGBT community in Europe, stating that systematic work was necessary in order to “get the right through to the society’s consciousness”.

This threatening "we're watching you" remark by the EU commissioner amounts to nothing less than a blatant intervention in the affairs of a sovereign country.

She talks about "LGBT rights" whithout defining what they are and being undefined and subjective they could become a sanction for anything goes.

It's all well dressing up a " gay right" as a personal choise but the reality is behaviour that impacts on others (the majority)then becomes licensed, such as inappropriate behavour or cruising in public. But any challenge or comment to such behaviour will risk of being vilified or called a biggot.

It seems to me that the gay rights brigade ,which includes Miss Malstrom, uses the excuse of discrimination in order to hide a wider agenda which includes having their views accepted and taught in schools and society in general and in the case of Serbia against the will of the majority (some democracy here). But then again when it comes to EU nothing surprises me anymore.

In every European country when security officials determine that there is a serious threat for an airport, they shut it down. In Serbia, the gay pride parade is a security threat for the general population, as it is supposed to be held in an urban area where masses are hard to be controlled. The question in this case would be who would take over the expenses of the damages that would be caused.

On the other hand, the Serbian church officials are calling for a ban. This is a legitimate request of theirs. A true democracy is a situation where everybody is entitled to express his opinion and wishes. It seems in Serbia that many adherents of democracy need to learn this essential principle of this political system.
